I've decided to not go through the learning curve with my Tiger, going to the dealer for 12K service. BMW... never. But caring for more than that is starting to stink like work v ride. I'm still gonna do the regular stuff, tires, plugs, oil, chain, suspension(finally have all the parts to fix the weapy right fork) etc...
If I ever end up with only one tripple, or retire, I'll do my homework and get good at that jazz.

I'm sure Y'all have heard this before, but here it is again. JaxWife told me after I was lamenting taking my truck apart again: "Just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to do it. You have a job"

A more wonderful wife would be impossible to find.
No offense to the wives reading this

Never been in there either but a friend just bought a bike from them and didn't have anything bad to say so that's a start. If Wayne can't hook you up let me know. I'm heading to IL on Thursday but will be back in a week.

Scotty, so you can sleep even better. I have never dealt with that dealer either.

I want you getting a good night sleep for M's sake. You are grumpy when you don't sleep well.

Evidently that is because you made him the "little spoon"...

Not that there is anything wrong with that during those cold western nights...

I am right there with you Jack - I take my Tiger to the dealer for all maintenance chores like valve adjustments and such. I do the relatively easy stuff. Sure I could do it but it's a pain in the ass and I just might break something else on the bike doing the maintenance. My lovely wife would rather have me pay the dealer to do it right the first time. She is tired of me flying off the handle when my repairs go awry.

My Tiger is due - she's got 33K on her now. Last time she was in for the 24K service, which included a valve adjustment. The could not do the fork maintenance then because I had cross threaded the front axle when I changed the front tire. I have since fixed that problem, so next time she goes in the fork oil will be changed as well.

...another reason why I let the dealer mess with valves and such - I checked the valve clearances on my old 2002 Triumph Trophy 1200. Once I got her back together I vowed never to do that again.
