WOW, I'm going to talk bike stuff!

I removed the fuel tank on the Tiger to check the air filter....Good to go. However I noticed that the previous owner didn't do the fuel tank/line coupler mod. The plastic tank fitting have been known to crack dumping fuel all over your garage. The good news is I went thru the spare parts the PO gave me and found the steel coupler parts.

Now looks like a good time to replace the fuel sending unit (another weak point) while I have everything apart.

Klown out

Scott -
Use Teflon Thread Tape on the threaded fittings. It'll seal the threads and there is less chance is cracking something with the smoother fit.

Scotty- If you ever want to dive into a valve adjustment/check, I've got one of those spring compressor tools. Guaranteed that you'll only cuss half as much when checking the clearances.

I've decided to not go through the learning curve with my Tiger, going to the dealer for 12K service. BMW... never. But caring for more than that is starting to stink like work v ride. I'm still gonna do the regular stuff, tires, plugs, oil, chain, suspension(finally have all the parts to fix the weapy right fork) etc...
If I ever end up with only one tripple, or retire, I'll do my homework and get good at that jazz.

I'm sure Y'all have heard this before, but here it is again. JaxWife told me after I was lamenting taking my truck apart again: "Just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to do it. You have a job"

A more wonderful wife would be impossible to find.
No offense to the wives reading this

Never been in there either but a friend just bought a bike from them and didn't have anything bad to say so that's a start. If Wayne can't hook you up let me know. I'm heading to IL on Thursday but will be back in a week.

I have never been there either, don't know where it is, just thought I would let you know in case you were wondering.
