Agreed.

Here is what is lurking in Bill's back yard....You know you wish you were him.

Annie gets clip-ons

So two hours in the garage later... She has a new look and rides way different. I can feel a cafe run coming on. Check out the odometer, 1976 I'm not that good... Well

I used the existing riser holes for two ram mounts... Another lucky guess

She is a hottie. I made a beer run and 30 min later made it in the store. Some ol' sailor was talking my ear off about back in the day. I love that shit.

So here is the centerfold

Now the only tasks... Left

1. Air Filter replacement kit = 60 bucks
2. Move the shifter and rear brake lever back = 350 bucks
3. New seat cafe style and bullet tip = 150 bucks
4. Done

Lance, that's the first bike I've seen on the forum in a long time that I'd like to own.

Nice.

thanks Mike... so I didn't mention this in the post yesterday... I came to one of those... I just ripped this wire off the hand controls and it looks old and my soldering is only ok. Then I notice while stripping off the handlebars that all the other hand control units are brand new... So I crossed my fingers and taped up old wires and started bike with no impact. I pulled the old controller later and it said Hella Made in Germany... and it is as old as the bike. Here is the photo. I think it is the high low beam... the new controls had the switch somewhere else. So I guess the whole bike was rewired too... happy surprise.

I think you can safely assume that anything g that old has had a lot of re-wiring done. If you need help with the soldering or want the old wiring cleaned up, you know where I am. I have all of the wire, tools, connectors, etc. to fix it in house.

Annie's first 100 with clip-ons

After work I decided to take Annie north to run some errands and see how uncomfortable she would be with my new riding position. I got as far as twin kiss on 301 North when the rains started. I was tracking in real time with my weather bug app. A must when you ride as much as I do.

Check out this video. Annie got a bath... another free bike wash

Then it was the classic... Hey it's sunny but still raining.

Then I continued north to the Mall. Digging those clip-ons

Then needed some supplies.. I'm working this weekend

My treasures

Even with the changes... I am thinking about keeping the panniers. They are so handy.

End result is my back feels great but the helmet isn't cutting it...I need to wear goggles under the eye shield... at 80 my eyes start tearing up ... or maybe this is pure joy.
