TC- Read Chis's katoom review; He's a vegan with leather boots. This certainly must be causing some sort of "irritation".

I did read it - it was great! Perhaps they are synthetic leather boots, made from dead dinosaurs instead of dead cows.

So the Super Duke has a great personality?

while you're riding it, you don't have to look at much as there's no fairing, and mostly sky with the front wheel lofted.

I could not afford the tickets...

It's the best handling bike I've ever ridden outside of a couple of well sorted track bikes.

It's comfortable, predictable, and extremely responsive. The smoothest throttle I've ever turned, brakes that are incredible and the riders position is perfect.

Screw the tickets.

Turn off the electronics and try to say that again.

I'd need postal addresses for folks and more stamps than I want to buy... So I'll stick with the e-forum ;-)

In due time, in due time.

I'll have to sell the BMW to afford it but I am seriously considering it. I also need to check with Kirk and see if he can fab a rack for a duffle and braces to keep soft bags out of the rear wheel.

417 pounds. (Dry) and 180 horsepower. What's not to love?

Despite the looks, I am interested.

how were the vibes?
The 1190 adv was really buzzy.

From what I've observed, most of you should just ride one of these. It's plenty fast for most of y'all.

We were on small - twisty - roads and in a group so wringing it out wasn't possible. However, with the steel in my wrist, I had to know how it felt so I stayed in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. I had to sell my last 950 because the vibration treated the metal like a tuning fork. The 1290 didn't do that. In fact, I got off the 1290 on onto my BMW and I can honestly say that the 1290 was smoother. I felt no buzz until I climbed over 9K. It's definitely at the top of my short list and if I (Kirk) can figure out a way that I can carry my Wolfman soft bags and a duffle, I'll get one. I have a report tucked away that I'll post after breakfast that explains it better than I can.

My standard of comparison is my SV650. I've never ridden a Bimmer. The 1290 has less buzz in the body & in the bars, but a lot more buzz in the seat, plus the seating position is awkward. My nuts were tingling when I dismounted.
