It's a slow process LD but it's coming along. I'm walking with no problems and the pain in my leg/hips is pretty much gone - which is a relief. Doc says that I'm very limited in what I can do for at least 3 months (closer to 6) but I expect to be back on the bike by late spring. I don't know whether I mentioned it but I have to have the wrist re-done and that may push riding back to July/August.

So is this B-stock Gerbings stuff not as good? U can get jacket, pants, and dual controller for about $300, lower wattage.

I was unaware of that link. Looks like a great deal. I jumped at the deal I made because of the sticker shock on the gerbings and retail warm n safe. With that price as my only option I might balk and get an Astars leather suit or a new ARAI. At this point, I'm just happy it is on the way! It's gonna be the best winter ever. Well... for riding

Has anyone owned or used both the last generation Gerbings and the new generation microwire Gerbings and felt the difference? Is there a difference in the power draw?

pbharvey has. Speaks highly of the microwire. I'm sure he would comment if asked.

heated gear makes it actually enjoyable to ride in the winter, so good investment IMHO regardless of the $$

Power draw I thought was the same.........micro wire gives a more even heat and heats up like right now vice a minute or two. Get the old stuff and hope it breaks. Gerbings will upgrade ya.

HB has a Microwire jkt liner.. And likes how it feels..He said you don't feel the wires in the elbows like in the past..As I said he has both...

Gee I have had my old lines wires break they fixed them N/C.. But did charge me for zipper and sewing up where seams riped.. They NEVER up graded the wires

These are supposedly great, especially if you haven't had the microwire to compare it to.

But good luck finding anything to fit you. At least right now the jacket liners run from 2XS-S...
