Hello All!

So are there any tech days planned in the near future?

Actually I pretty much have no clue about anything mechanical. I'm not an idiot per say, I can read the manual and go through everything with a bit of trial and error. I can also apply what I've learned quite easily to another platform. The problem is that I don't want to have to pay for the errors I might make. I'd much rather learn something right from the get-go. For that reason, I was hoping that there might be a tech day in the works so that I could assist and/or observe people doing some wrenching. Basic stuff would be cool like changing tires, adjusting the chain, adjusting the valves, etc. Anything more in depth I'd love also, but isn't a necessity. I'm really open for anything. Thanks for the offer to help though as I greatly appreciate that!

yeah, I have manuals, videos, and how-to's...I was just hoping that I could see it in action and possibly partake.

I would like to put something together, that'd be nice!

anybody good and taking off a tire with just spoons?
i have tubes in my tires and i need to get to them in order to fix a flat.
i've only taken the wheels on and off my sport bike. i just bribed someone to swap the tires. that would be a nice tech day for me.

funny thing happened on my ride home. some kids were riding their skateboards down brighton dam rd. one fell and got some road rash. they had no shirts on. i gave them their location via my iphone. they called a bunch of people for a ride but then finally called an ambulance. i offered a ride, but i had to get my car at home, still 30min away. they were kinda far from home and their parents were at work. i kept telling them to call an ambulance the whole time. they were pretty dumb. once the ambulance came i bailed.

the kids were taking photos of their friend's roadrash for facebook.
kinda reminds me of some rides i've been on.

For instance I just bought a Kawasaki shop manual off Ebay for the KDX 200 I recently picked up for $20.00...the manual has already answered some of the questions I had about the bike.

We can probably put something together...
If you bought a KDX for $20 your probably going to need that shop manual.

SMIB on 1st SE trip for the Year Post #10

So my ride from Mobile AL to Moss Point MS was short. Just 40 Miles. The real fun happened after I got there. Enjoy.

56001 miles and counting....

Check out those clouds.

Now for the fun part. One of my folks took me crabbing, Mississippi style. His boy actually runs the business. Very cool.

We ate three of these...

Tonight I'm ending my work week with a concert. Loverboy at the Hard Rock Casino.

More to come...

Well, that rally was a miserable failure. My proposed route is below, Johnson City, NY, to Wilmington, NC, and had me driving 1,380 miles in 25 hours, but I barely crossed over into Virginia when my clutch starting slipping while in 6th gear. Since I was about to head into some extreme weather, I redirected and limped back home while using the steadiest throttle I could muster.

In hindsight, wish I had gone to WV with you all, at least until I see the photos of getting stuck in waist deep mud....

Eric

Your 1518 track shows you in Marlinton - that's where we had the Super Moto Rallye last October - also the last time I was able to ride a bike.

Hope the storm hasn't wiped you out. 66 was a mess around 1600-1630.

I hope you're not staying in the same shitty motel.....

SMIB on 1st SE trip for the Year Post #11

Working for the weekend; this is how I remember them…

This is how they look now. Wow I feel old.

But the sound was exactly the same. Was a great concert and even better at the Hard Rock.

My favorite of their songs... this was the ovation number. I so miss the late 80's live concerts and the music... classic hair bands and groupies. To be honest... many were at this concert and I was impressed... they looked good. Man I'm getting old

After a late night, I was up early, packed and ready to go home... well almost, half way. Here is the route.

Perfect riding weather... even though I was driving through where tornados dropped last night.

a couple vanity shots that sum up the 660 mile trip... long and beautiful switchback country roads.

Later folks. Here is my trip tomorrow.
