The new droid phones are better than the iPhone - I have an iPhone and if the new Droids - like the Incrediphone - were available when I bought the iPhone - I'd have one. Dealing with Apple sucks.

Colt 1911 Euro & Asian theaters Commemorative in presentation cases. I have seen wide swings in value. From $1250 to $3800 each. I saw an add for the two together for $8500. Too wide of a swing. I don't trust the guys out here. I have heard a couple of horror stories from the Bass Pro guys.
The higher values are probably honest values. The low ball prices are coming from traders who want to buy cheap and sell high.

Look at the prices on Gunbroker, GunsAmerica and Auction Arms. That will give you a ball park estimate. PM me the particulars - condition, year of manufacture, fired/unfired, etc and I'll check my sources. I have a couple of clients who collect.

As LONG as you don't mind expecting to not be hacked when doing any banking or investiments. Love the Droid features, but aIrports and other public spots are the new Wild West for stealing account info from Droid users.

Got a few electrical bugs worked out tonight...
Only got a couple things before we're rolling:
connect the throttle and transmission linkage
replace a few vacuum hoses

After that:
aim the headlights
replace the seats
install the front rollbar and weld in cross bars
patch a "few soft spots" in the floor
fix the windshield wipers...they work too good...they won't shut off
Fix the tac
swap out the temperature gauge

ahhh hell, you get the idea....

Being fully loaded with luggage and knobby tires is an interesting feeling.

I weighed everything and so far I have (in pounds):
  • Left (exhaust side)
    • pelican 23.2
    • ortlieb 8.2
  • Right
    • pelican 30
    • ortlieb 5.8
  • top case 22.3
  • fuel container (2 gallons) 12
Total w/o fuel container filled = 89.5
Total w/ fuel container filled = 101.5
(I googled that gasoline is 6 pounds/gallon)

I will probably add a few pounds when I put my clothes and a few last minute things in. The exhaust side is lighter on purpose.
So far the rok straps did their job. The ortlieb bags don't seem to be sliding around on top of the pelicans. I wasn't sure since the surface of the pelicans aren't large or flat.

The awesome thing is that I have a lot for room for more crap! I'm not using all the space I have.
That means I've learned a bit from my Alaska trip.
I won't use that extra room, though. Not at the start of the trip, at least.

That's an awful lot of stuff on top of the itty bitty motorcycle..............

Have you ridden it like that to see what the difference in handling is?

yeah...i didn't just take a pic in my drive way...hahaha
the handling is not too bad...it's just a bit precise....
i don't think it's too much.
like i said i have room for more, so it's not maxed out.
i think it's about average.
i don't have too many luxuries....probably just a camping pillow and a jet boil.....i'm not even taking sneakers...just aqua socks to save room....
i refuse to buy a kermit chair like all the bmw folks have....

i'm not sure where else i'd save weight. maybe lighter tools.....

Got home from the field test early and dug into my engine to find that what I thought might have been missing was right where it's supposed to be

But these are notorious for self-extracting so I replaced them with drilled socket cap screws and made damn sure they weren't coming out:

Now to figure out why it sounds like something's rattling around inside my engine...
