Since you asked...I'm actually working an "it's a small world" contact for more information about riding out west.
It all started out simple enough...someone was selling a KLR center stand for about $60...
That one ended up being sold before I could reply, but the seller said a friend had one he was selling and sent me his contact info.
Same stand (style) same price, different guy...
Turns out the guy is a Navy brat who's father and grandfather both served, he now lives in Hamburg New York
Growing up in Western New York, I told him I grew up in Alden (much smaller town)
He replied his ex-wife just retired as the principal for Alden's Middle School

Anyhow, while exchanging emails found out we have both had 6 KLR's each over the years...
I mentioned our interest in putting together a CD ride in the near future..he's done it twice and offer to provide any assistance he could....

Anyone else hear the damn Disney music ???

As for the video...certainly gets one interested....definite ADV porn

Oh...and the center stand is in the mail

i'll be on the CDR from Salida north to the border sometime this month. i'll give ya a report.

get out there while there's still some green. the pine bark beetle is estimated to kill 85% of pines below 10,000' in colorado for instance. same for the other mountain states and canadian provinces. i went through some of those hard hit areas in 2009 and couldn't see a live tree to the horizon in any direction.

Jack, I never got an answer from Phil on the campground for labor day or Oct 2-3. He's on the road next week so will have to wait.

Oct 2-3 is the Shenandoah 500.........no big deal. Most Cats don't have a passport to get into PA anyway.
