If you do it, just use a piece of tape so you can quickly remove it.....don't need to be charged with vandalism.

Triple points if it's a state trooper! and you get away with it

I didn't have enough nads to stop by the prison......way too many surveillance cameras.
Well it was a nice day for a ride.

Great photos! I like the one where the logo for the tire manufacturer is the tread!

Mermite cans/cheap panniers?

I don't know if any of you are/have been looking for Mermite cans to use as panniers but I spoke to a guy at the gunshow today who sells surplus stuff. He would be willing to sell the can without the inner stuff, you would still have to remove the foam, for $20.00. Sounds like a steal for as tough as they are and and light as they are.

Bruce...do you know how the mermite cans compare size wise to the cans I have ? I did a quick google but couldn't fined the size specs....

For the cost and the weight...it might be worth looking into

This is what I found.

Quote:
I've taken measurements after removing the insulation from the main can. Another 1.5" (at least) of usable vertical space can be had by gutting the tops of the cases.

Exterior
Height: 15.75"
Length: 20.25"
Width: 9.5"

Interior
Height: 12.5"
Length: Same
Width: Same

Of course the interior/exterior measurements only really change for the vertical storage capacity due to the insulated top. Otherwise, the only difference between the interior/exterior measurements is the width of the aluminum (1/16?).

SMIB lurkers

Alright all you wanna be SMIB's, as you may know we are trying to get our SMIB colors on Bill Conger's Dakar bike. I am still looking for donations...I would like to far exceed the minimum amount necessary to get our sticker on the bike. So what I am asking for is any $ you can spare to help us out. Many people have been more than generous but every dollar counts. PM me and I will send you my PayPal address.

Thanks to every one who has already donated to the cause!
