I've seen you ride that thing...... may want to upgrade at least the spring ....the stock shock and spring are not really a motocross shock....

i did upgrade...it's a Progressive Suspension 465....
It's been less than a year....hoping to get a chance to look into the warranty thing later today..

First I have to empty the garage so the orkin guys can get the termite treatment done...

Do they make an MX shock that fits the KLR ?

Finally got a chance to pull the shock...
Looks like a threaded cap at the bottom of the reservoir section came loose....



The cap is out of shape, so it will at least need a rebuild...sent my information to Progressive...waiting to hear what they say

Other than it leaking how do you like the shock? Upgrading my suspension this winter,looking at all my options.

You might try PM inmate Sasquatch. Full disclosure, expect the bike to be down for 5 weeks between transit to/from, awaiting springs, and work time.

He reusing the stock housing, revalves and springs it for your weight. About $450.
