Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation.

One of the larges trees I've seen in a while. Probably close to 7' in diameter...

It's a busted up tree, but it was a cool find! Highway 12 (before Lolo Pass) in Idaho, while on a recent trip to the Oregon Coast!

Photography for me is not about recreating what I saw through
the viewfinder but to show people the way I want to see the world.

In Russia we have saying, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it". We also say, "if it is broke, don't fix it".

The Burmis tree in Burmis AB. The outrageously strong winds here bend most of the trees permanently.

Anyway, trundling about failed to give me sight of any signs reading Trevague but a chance meeting with a kindly fellow out for a walk by the modern bridge produced directions to an unmarked farmstead called Trevague. You meet the most knowledgeable people on a bridge.
