Help a deployed soldier? Denver area

Hey guys,

I'm in Afghanistan right now and realized that I left my KTM 950 (2006) with some gas in the tank and the carbs un-drained.

Would anyone be kind enough to scoot out to my bike and drain the tank/carbs for me? We're kinda out there in Aurora...

My wife will have a twelver of your favorite brew -- or whatever else you require -- as a token of my appreciation. Plus good ol' patriotic karma!

This kind of thing reminds me of why I love ADV.

Thanks for your service, here's to your safe return to a non-gummed-up DS.

Thank you for your service malroy!

I'm not familiar with KTM's but, if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.

Return home soon!

I'm far from a mechanic, but if it's a similar process to my 400 EXC, it's something I can handle. I could also bring some fuel stabilizer out there & just run some of that through it.

Let me know if you want me to try either option.

Malory,

I'd be happy to set your Adventure up for storage. I definitely know my way around them.

Also, might want to consider putting it on a battery tender or the battery will likely be marginal by the time you get back.

No beer needed. We owe you far more than a little bit of bike work!

Nice blog by the way...

Just Wanted To Say

1st ... THANK YOU

2nd ... All the good karma my wife and I can generate for a safe return home for you and everyone "over there".

3rd ... If you bike needs haven't already been taken care of, I'll gladly make sure they are.

Excellent blog - I'm forwarding to everyone I know that seems to "disconnected, brain-less, clue-less" with what's going on in the world.

Take care,

I'll bet you already have help, but all I do on my bike for long term storage is just add some Stabil to the tank and run it into the carb. Much gratitude for your service in the foreign hills and by the way, I read your blog and loved it. Will check in often to see how things go. I am very interested in Afghanistan and have read several books on the situation there since 1989. Thanks for your service.

Hey guys, thanks for all the offers of help and support! I appreciate it -- we all do, knowing there are kind citizens looking out for us back home.

I got a bunch of PMs and just replied to this first one and looks like I have something lined up. So no offense if I didn't respond.

Thanks again.
