I can be done on anything if you are brave/mad/stupid (delete where appropriate)!

I did it in 08 on my 1997 1100GS and it was a little tough in places but got to Colorado without too much damage. I did it solo which in hindsight was plain stupid but I survived. I was lucky with the weather though and only had two days rain.

Don't let that creek crossing scare you, it's gravel and crushed brick on the bottom.

Now this one on the other hand..................YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!

Visually count the number of teeth on the sprocket.

Or it may be stamped somewhere on it.

I'm planning on going solo in early June and stopping out in Colorado for the Pike's Peak event before continuing on to OR. I'm also going to try to find a more dirt leaning route from the Northeast to the start of the trail. Lots to plan and think about. I'm heading out for a few weeks this weekend to shakedown the big KTM and see how it goes. Figure if I can ride Big Bend and the Big Bend state park I'll live through the TAT. I do have a WR250F but getting it plated would be a pain. All goog problems to have though.

Have you seen the TWVT thread? It's basically an unofficial eastern TAT trail to Jellico.

It's bringing it all back....oh, the horror of water. Think I may be in for a few nightmares

I think I can remember every inch of that damn trail and everyone should do it at least once

Tired?!

I see that sandy road just wore your bike down! You should let it sleep in so it doesn't need that nap mid-day!

I know, ADV rider salute!

Good warning for the unwary!

June 27th - July 7th for me and three friends.

Starting from OK and going to OR. Probably spend an extra day in Moab on the WRT...or just drinking beer.

The mobile circus includes, but is not limited to; three 09' 690 Enduro R's, one DRZ 400, one Tacoma chase truck with girlfriend driving, and two labrador retriever copilots. I suspect it is going to be a logistical nightmare, but that will make it interesting for me to plan and execute.

I'm with ya, although with a little different twist. Not only a rope, but I look forward to wine and cheese at the end of each day.

Seriously

Jeff,

After walking to the middle of that stream and slipping three times my partner and I skipped this crossing. Yeah, we are wimps but we are old wimps and did not want to try to pick up a DL650 on that slippery rock stream bed.
