Scapa 16y/o is my current drink of choice. Lagavulin is a very close second.

Bushmills just up the road from me is hard to beat , I'm quiet fond of Jamesons Irish single malt , Glenmorange and Glenfiddich .

I just got Michael Jacksons "Complete Guide to Single malt Scotch". Great book although it does not contain some recent releases.

I like Aberfeldy

I have to say, though, Clan MacGregor is my go to Scotch. It is cheap, tastes good, and comes in a 1.75 liter bottle that lasts a while.

I was expecting a bottle of something nice. I got 6.

This Blackadder is really something special. It'll only get doled out to guests that are worthy

Currently, drinking a Bowmore a friend gave as a gift. Quite nice!
I just got a bottle of Lagavulin Distillers Edition 1996-2012 from BevMo, great stuff but a little peaty for me. It definitely went down better after the first glass! I was going to get the cask strength 12 YO but saw the DE and I bought the last one they had. Their web site sucks and it is impossible to figure out what a store has in stock.

This guy is entertaining:

Aformentioned Balvenie Double Wood is very good. Generally speyside is good in reasonably affordable whiskys. I've no experience with the high-enders.

We obviously have different tastes -- you can take Talisker and the other Islay whiskies away for all I care.
+1

Just add enough water to bring it down to 35%.

Did he serve it on a square plate?

Here is a cool map of the distilleries:

This thread inspired me to go shopping and I came home with this:

I'm not sure what to expect, but I will let you all know :)

Just got a new bottle tonight of something I have never tried before. Really strong stuff at 60%.

Bought a bottle of The Balvenie 15 single barrel last week. A little on the strong side at 47% but has an overpowering spicy/lemony flavor, can't really get past that yet.
