Blue Grass Valley of Virginia

I took a short ride to Blue Grass Valley of Virginia today. Temps varies from 30deg F in Powhatan, Va down into teens in the mountains. Finally came back up into the 30s later in the day.
Here's a few shots from today's little ride.

Confederate Breast Works East of Monterey on rte 250.

Shots of Monterey Virginia

The following shots are in and around the town of Blue Grass and back out to High Town on rte 250 west of Monterey.

Just for you Jimmy

I still haven't figured out what ski resort that is in the distance. Those white strips have got to be snow runs. It's north of Blue Grass and south-west of Franklin, WV. Anybody know ????

Well it was 1:30 and time to high tail it back home before dark. Left home at 9:30 AM and pulled back into the garge at 4:00. 330 miles later.

No ... I didn't freeze my ass off! Yes the wind was howling in places in the valleys! Another beautiful day in Blue Grass Valley.

One last Shot

Nice pics.....also, nice to see the roads fairly free of salt and sand too.

VA DOT was putting sand on dry roads in Fairfax County yesterday :(

I love that area. Some great turns on 250. I run 250 from Harrisonburg over to the Monongahela at least twice a year. Lots of great roads and scenery. Thanks for the pics. Never saw it in the winter. Funny, I have a lot of the same pictures only with leaves on the trees.

The only ski place close by is Snowshoe which I'm sure you can't see from Bluegrass. I think you are looking at snow that has drifted along fence lines on someones property.
Nice cool day for a ride eh?

Virginia is for....bikers too!

MadStrom, thanks for your ride report and high quality pics. I lived in Morgantown, WV for two years but never had the opportunity to visit VA. Your pics here has made me put VA on my "must see" list soon.

Good-looking Strom too!
