I've had an excellent few nights reading this thread, it's amazing how close to every aspect of your travels you've made me feel, the usual degrees of separation felt when reading an adventure novel have been narrowed in this thread with its multiple angles from multiple participant authors, direct Q&A and overall first class reporting.
I seriously want to buy the book just to remind me of how cool this thread is. Thanks for sharing. |

Walter,
This thread is not dead yet. In full support of the effort you put into your report I just ordered your book and dvd. Be sure to kick a few $$ down to your two riding mates as well! The picture of Tony at the bridge's end is The Best real world riding picture I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your emotions with us in that photo Tony! |

More than one million views
Out of an estimated 20,000 threads (40 per line x 500 pages) Yes i see that there are 733 pages, a bunch seem to have been moved.
There are currently only 11 Ride Report threads that can claim the additional fame of being members of the 1 million + views club. Glen is way closer to his 3 millionth view than the 1 mark. ![]() Doug is here twice...looks like your dirtster is a bit more popular than the panhead. Clayton appears to engage his readers so much in his stories that they are to mesmerized to reply. Would be great if the mods could let us know how many subscribers each of them have. DVD ordered also.
Ive spent the last few days reading all of your threads, and i have to say they are my faves, along with Timgrola (sp.) and the american camera dude with the KTM i love the well written, well photographed, and informative loaded posts. Top work. Now im looking at getting an enduro bike to have fun on, as the fazer is getting miles piled on due to commuting everyday, and lets be honest, the fazer wouldnt make much of an adventure bike ![]() Great trip report, cant wait to read the two latest ones!

errmm. How did I find myself here?
I'm sat in a hotel in Severobaykalsk and I find myself reading this blog for the 1000th time just hours before starting the ride but in the opposite direction. Big thanks Walter for taking the time to document all this and providing the inspiration for me to do this. If this goes horribly wrong, it will be you my Mum will be calling :-)
