I'll try it, my only concern is that the O2 will pick on the richer mixture and lean it back out again to where it "belongs" thus negating the effect of "fooling" temp sensor. The only way around this is if the engine runs open loop (feedback from O2 sensor ignored) under acceleration, which may be the case. Then the mixture would richen up when you need it and go back to normal on cruise.

Read the guys website. Says when cruising at set RPM booster does nothing and mixture is as stock. Kicks in under accelleration.

Affordable enough that it is worth a try.

I made one of these here:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-r...rformance.html

The only difference between mine and the Booster Plug is my design does not need an external thermistor.

Instead, mine runs in parallel with the stock AIT sensor (which is a thermistor). Why by more parts than are needed?

Then start a thread in Vendors and sell it!

If you're unsure, read the posted rules.

All I was saying is, if yours is really better, start a thread in the right forum and have at it. How does that old saying go? "If you build a better mouse trap the world will beat a path to your door"

I didn't say that mine was for sale, nor did I say mine was better.

I did though ask a question, and then followed up with an email to Jens at Boosterplug. He responded quickly that he does indeed use the stock, existing Bosch AIT plug in conjunction with an additional NTC sensor to smooth-over the non-linear response inherent in thermistors.

Very slick. Very well though out.

Installed my boosterplug today

Easy install, took about 20 minutes...

I cable tied the external NTC resistor on the frame behind the power outlet next to the toolspace tray..

Anyone have a better / different suggestion on placement?

No testride yet.. to much of that white cold stuff on the ground here in Sweden
