2015 King of the Motos training in Johnson Valley

I'll be out in Johnson Valley riding previous years routes most weekends until the event February 1st trying to get my skills and strength up to par.

If anyone that wants to roll out there with me, let me know.

Most the riding will be in rocky technical areas in portions of the harder sections from previous KOTM races.

I'm back from Montana and that sounds like it would be interesting for a day once I get my sea level jets back in the 400. I imagine I'll only be able to ride a few yards (feet?) of the hard stuff but at least I can call in the location of your body.

Talking First KOM race

Hello this is my first post on this forum, I entered in the 2015 king of the motos which is my first time and first off road rrace aside from motorcross. Those of you that have raced in it before can you give me some details on what to expect? I emailed the guy in charge and he said emails would go out in the next week or so on the dates and times of the event. I was wondering how many miles it is, and from what I have read it looks like everyone is using the Trail Tech Voyager GPS unit is that right? Any info you guys have is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

You need to watch the videos on YouTube and then you'll know.

I have watched the videos and have been to the race a few times so terrain wise I know what I'm in for. What I'm wanting info on is like pit wise, are there remote pits? I have read that it's 160 miles? When do they provide route info? When do they usually do qualifying, and is qualifying for the amateur class or only pro? Last year the race was on sunday but this year it looks like it's on saterday?

Thanks

Compared to the afternoon loop that was a walk in the park! I'm headed down to Barstow some time next week. Anyone going to be out there and want to run some of the previous years courses?

Right on! Here is what my first time at KOM looked like. 2014 was way less of a shit-show getting to the starting line but I timed out.

Don't remember the exact milage, but you for sure need a big(er) gas tank than stock. Can use any GPS, but the Voyager is the most popular. The Trail Tech guys are really helpful, and they always have a booth setup to help.

Are there any remote pit areas? Is it laps or just one big loop?

Thanks for the help the guy in charge said emails would go out in a week or 2 but that was 2 weeks ago today so I'm getting anxious.
