Rain is a happy accident, not something you wait for.

Given the choice August is better than July because the area will almost certainly have had more rain. That's all I am saying.

BMW F800 GS sale

FYI

I just saw a 2010 BMW F800 GS with 1,112 miles, one owner, for sale on the Sierra Vista CL listings. Seems like one hell of a deal to me if I was in the market for a new bike.

Dirt to Safford: from Benson take Cascabel to Three Links, cut north to Fort Grant Road to Bonita. Left on Aravaipa then right on Klondike. Recommend the Hawaiian place in Safford for lunch. A side trip out to Aravaipa Canyon is a nice addition to the route.

how many miles is that safford ride? I just picked up a xr650r, not sure what kind of distance I can ride without a fill yet.

I am ordering a clarke 4.3 gal tank for it, since it is leaking, but its a 2 week wait. I wont have it running for a bit, unless someone has a used tank they want to sell.

. . . Jackson Cabin is out that way too - that's an awesome ride, but maybe not on a big bike.

Was hoping to be there around now for a couple weeks, but things got a little busy here in Maine. Will definitely be there in early September - hiking the Grand Canyon (again) with my brother and his wife on 9/3 - they made a reservation to stay overnight at the bottom. After the hike I'm hoping to maybe head out for a loop up through UT & CO. Not sure how much time I'll spend in the Sierra Vista area if that happens, but there's still places I want to explore around there so hopefully we can get out for another ride at some point. Should be there again for 2-3 weeks around Oct/Nov, and hope to spend lots of time out that way in Jan & Feb. Hope you're enjoying the area. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there . . . riding out there is spectacular for an Easterner like me who only gets out there for a few weeks at a time.

This^

Saturday?

Gas will sort itself out. Nothing is all that far if we don't skip fuel and people carry a bit. I can go 150 on a tank not counting 3 spare liters.

Chris is on a fresh super10. I need to use up my old knobs so I can feel good about fresh rubber.... An xr would make us pretty eclectic.

i'm in for the saturday ride, i think a shake down on the dirt would be a good day. My riding style and routes are going to change. the tenere is a very different bike than the drz.
