I've gotta work through this weekend(though I might be convinced to call in sick if the route is a good one), but the 3rd(Sunday) is good for me, dirt or pavement. I may hit up the supermoto track on the 2nd as there is a race and the other riders need someone to pass/lap!

Thanks for the thread reminder Brian.

I'm going to visit my parents in California for Christmas, so I can't make it this Saturday.

I am in for the 3rd though - looking forward to it.

I saw your gas can. I think I might have one of those laying around that you can have.

Question This is fun, done it before.

Sorry for the MEGA URL but what about this route?
Gives us plenty of dirt road, a small amount of not too technical and some decent paved crap. Each kind of rider can get their jollies on their particular kind of ride and vice versa.
Under 300 miles.

Besides, the bootheel of NM is beautiful.

Cry one more

We could stay in the Chiricahuas overnight. Just pack your camping gear. Anyone want to? If not, you could just continue on and some of us could stay up there for a night. There is tons of firewood up there right now. Grab some MRE's and just rough it and freeze your butt off. If anyone is in to it, I'll do it.

This looks like a great ride for next weekend (2-3 Jan). There was some interest in a mostly paved ride that weekend. I am willing to camp on that weekend too if anyone else is interested.

I would rather do the original route this weekend though. We can break off the group in Tombstone if others want to take another route. The more the merrier.

Oh man camping in the mountains in the freezing weather sounds wonderful, I love that kind of stuff, but not the Saturday after Christmas, I want to spend that time with my family. Next weekend however, that sounds like a blast, and there will be some new snow to play in after this storm that is coming through.
