Cool pics,
No pics of the GS bead breaker? Unfortunately, my camera bit the dust in the rain and took my pics with it, but here is my GPS track.. and elevation profile ![]() I suspect the vertical jump around around mile 275 was when my batteries died, and the GPS was off for a bit. Either that or the Xcountry was climbing vertical cliffs when I wasn't looking. ![]()

the gathering.
one could not continue. always a bummer, but better to break down in town than on a mountian somewhere without cell coverage. ![]() the flat. ![]() good thing someone brought a jack.... ![]() it's all good... Mikey brought an electric pump. this would have taken all day. ![]() excellent day for a spin... ![]() ![]() ADV pump sharing... always bring cash. you cant always stick your card in the pump. one at a time, we woulda been here for a while. ![]() ![]() lunch in portal... good burger, freindly waitress. did anyone else notice the redneck eye screwing us? ![]() ![]() Then the DSLR preventing rain began. we were moving at a good clip anyway, and riding sometimes takes precedence over picture taking right? shoulda stopped and snapped one of the cow me and mikey almost scrapped with on middlemarch. a cow in a slot canyon is not a cool sight when your going 10mph faster than a GS should be going on rocks.

So, I call BMW to come pick up the bike. I call my wife to come pick me up. Ironhorse isn't open on Sunday or Monday and they don't have a night drop so my bike will have to sit in some storage lot until it can be towed in on Tuesday the woman says. I say o.k. because I have no choice and sit down to wait for the tow. I'm sitting there for something like an hour when I notice something. It looks like a carb vent line. That can't be because I have a fancy fuel injected bike. So what is it? I look and look for wherever this thing is supposed to plug into. Finally I see a hose barb sticking out of the top of the evap canister with no hose on it. BINGO! That has to be it. About now is when the tow truck pulls in. Now, I'm not about to have my bike towed and stored if this damn hose is the problem. I talk the driver into giving me a hand (the job needed three hands). I get the hose back on and she fires right up. Now of course I feel like a douche. The driver has to call BMW to get paid for coming out for nothing. My wife got a new pair of sunglasses and some lunch. When I got home I ripped that junk off the bike so I won't have THAT problem again. I even zip tied the vacuum cap in place after plugging off and removing the canister.
