Path to Antelope Wells

I am riding up the divide starting next week, and am looking for the most direct route to Antelope Wells. Do any of you guys know if the border road goes from Douglas all the way to Antelope Wells?

Thanks

Mark is in Colorado riding a one horsepower bike, I doubt he's on the net much, but he's been face booking a little. I relayed the question to him.

I wanted to ride the divide this summer but one thing leads to another and then the whole summer is spent. Maybe next year.

I don't know about the border road but I was looking for an all dirt way there and found a series of roads that look like they would connect eventually. I was just not sure about finding locked gates.

Rob,

Im pretty sure you can take Geronimo Trail out of Douglas and get there.

Anyone in the Benson/SV area want to do some riding some time in the middle of next month? After a long break in riding I picked up a XR650L. I'm going to be pretty busy with work until mid AUG but after that I'd like to learn a few routes in the area if there's anyone patient enough to take it easy. Still getting used to the sand around here. My experience was limited to smaller dirt bikes in highschool so I'm not looking to do anything too technical at first since this bike is pretty darn big, but if anyone wants to hit some trails let me know. I have my OHV sticker and I'll be ready to ride.

later this week is the annual trek into colorado for me... and Ive been off the bike for almost a year with injuries. I hope to get back to short range touring after the colorado trip though, and i'll be on the big GS exclusively so if mild dirt is your goal, im usually game for company.

I'll try getting in touch when I'm ready to go. I just came from Colorado Springs....makes me wish I would have bought a bike there...although there's plenty of riding to be had down here as well.

In the mean time...any chance any of you have some mapped routes near Benson that are accessible? I've been exploring but keep finding locked gates and "No Tresspassing" signs. Thanks!

If I think of it when I get home I can scan the page of my new Benchmark atlas that has Benson on it. There appear to be a few routes on there that may interest you.

I'd appreciate that!

Lightfighter...that wouldn't happen to be your red GS parked across from Nicholson Hall today was it?

Nope, I don't work up there, mine is grey, and I'm in Colorado covering it with bugs and dirt.
