Sierra Vista
Hello, Sorry I don't know how else to do this. Any old riders in SV? Do you know Jeff the old guy that lives not far off the post? He always has a yard full of motorcycles, did he die? His phone has been disconnected.
Here is some eye-candy for your amusement. If you know please send me a message. |

So Long to Jeff
Jeff was one of Sierra Vista's true motorcycle enthusiast. RIP He was a little bit on the crumby side, but he knew his motorcycle stuff. I'll bet someone picked his yard clean like a chicken bone. Jeff would tell you bad genetics got him. Bye Jeff. Thanks for the reply http://youtu.be/A998AWwVhos

Yeah... it looks like no desert daze. Not only do I not have a small bike yet, the cow decided to eat the rubber intake manifolds. And they are on back order.

Apparently my version of ADV got lost in the ether, and I didn't see any of the posts after the last one on page 77 referencing desert daze. That I will not be attending. Because (among other reasons) my BMW is "reliable" for a given definition of reliable and the parts are not in stock in this country.
The little manifolds that hold the throttle bodies are made of dry rot instead of rubber. I decided used manifolds would likely have the same problem in short order, so I ordered new ones. Nothing is actually wrong with it except it hates me. Now that I think of it, I probably should have ordered a new alternator belt while I was at it. |

My normal street motorcycle with the reputation for being finicky works fine. Unfortunately I decided to pick a second (touring) bike with a reputation for being reliable. I think my dirt bike needs to be a 2-stroke, with my luck. At least I won't be upset by needing to rebuild it every 10k miles.

Check the link if you don't need the newest version. Go for a fly-n-ride and they'll pay your airfare and pick you up at the airport. |
