I even came home tonight. I couldn't stand the idea of doing another day in the heat.

I spose we better get acclimated, cause it's gonna b the status quo for some time now. The whole wetting a shirt trick works wonders, but sometimes it's not very convenient.

Dennis, sorry I didn't make it. At least she called me before I was deep into the trip out.

The vehicle was already towed when i arrived, but from the description she gave I'm guessing either a manifold or head gasket. She said white steam was spewing from the exhaust.

I am not sure what really happened yesterday. I sadly think it was a combination of A lot of things.

1- I normally hydrate the night before. I drink at least 2 liters of water. I didn't because I did not want to have to wake and climb out of my tent a bunch of times during the night.

2-the crazy heat.

3-the Vstrom is a heaviest bike I ever tossed around the track. Or at least it felt like it. This track is hard work. And I felt it after the first session.

4-I have barely rode this year. The 250 mile ride the day before left me shot for the track.

5- I might have just gotten way too fat and out of shape to do this anymore.

6- seat position. My knees have suffered since I got this bike.

7- I just plane rode too hard too fast enjoying the new found hp and wore myself out. It was a work out.

That is more or less my list of excuses for having such a horrible day yesterday. I was in pain by the end of my first session. My feet and legs ached. The bike did great. I did not hold up as well. It was fast and did everything right. Nobody passed me yesterday. Not even on the straights. I have no idea how fast it goes. I taped over the speedo so I would not look down on the straights.

But I banged it off the limiter in 5th on the straight. So that has to be well over 100 and I was wide eyed At the braking markers. A couple if coaches on r1's said I was crazy to watch and chase. "You were movin on the touring bike. That shit moves"

Oh. The Anakee 3s were alright. Nothing strange happened. They felt great. I did a few trails too. The tires and new gearing felt great.
