This is a pic of the sock turned insied out, folded over so you can see the brand
That's bs about the socks .. If you read my post about the socks .. We both have them and NEVER had an issue with the socks,,

And YES Gerbings brought them back...
I use a very thin sock on my feet and then the Gerbings..
I ride in a cold as -6 .. Any colder and my tires feel weird..

WE have ALL the grebings stuff.. Gloves~socks~Jk liner~Ridge outer pants..
In the 12+ years that we have our gerbings .. I have sent 2 liner back for wire repair and a zipper and some sewing .. I have 2 kinds of controllers 1 Permanent and 1 removable .. Hey I have 2 bikes.. Both controllers are also gerbings .. I don't mix and match..

IMHO I think you are just asking for trouble that way..
Penny wise pound foolish.. Just saying...

I know gerbings ia good stuff, I'm not trying to deny that. all my stuff is gerbing. That's exactly why I went with gerbings, cause if you have any problems they take care of it. I sent my gloves and jacket back for repair, both were fixed no charge. I'm just saying what problems I have with the sox (the pic proves it), Maybe I got a defective pair and should return them for repair (which I know would be covered).

As far as mix and matching , Thats BS, the heated gear companys dont make electrical connectors, they make heated gear. as far as that goes they don't make the wires in the gear, they just use it in different ways.
they all do it. most of them HD, gerbings, Aerostich and Eclipse, have gone to the coax type connector. They buy the connectors and wires fron thier suppliers and incorperate them into clothing. that's the point I'm trynig to make heat is heat, wires are wires, connectors are connectos. you can buy any brand you want, they can only make it as good as what's available to use.

Just like I can buy BMW brand oil for my bike. but I'm pretty sure BMW doesn't own a refinery, They have the oil branded for them.

now saying that there are different qualities in the parts and pieces made and used, in fact I think gerbings uses a higher guality connector than W&S, but they are still the same coax type. gerbing is trying to hold onto the fact that you have to buy gerbings to use gerbings. They sold me on it when I was new to the heated gear game.

yes differnt campanies have different quallity and control, and for that reason, some support thier product better than others. I think gerbings Is top notch in the the QC and support departments. That's may because they use the top of the line parts and pieces to build thier gear and can afford to do that.

I know for a fact they are compatible.

as far as penny wise thing, W&S is more expesive than gerbings, I didn't get thier controller cause it was less expensive, I got it because it's what werks for me.

Like I said What werks for one may not werk for another..

Abso - effin - lutely no offense to LD for her opinion and what werks for her, I'm just puttung stuff out there as to what my opinios are...

Hell for All I Know I could be Dead wrong.

That like mixing dot 3 & 4 ..
Hey when I owned a 911S... I didn't put ford parts in it ...

Some of my gerbings were so old they had the double end connectors.. I had pigtaisl all over.. Made all the connections very warm. a lot of drag for the power..And blew a fuse every month.. To much drag...

Sent them all back to gerbings .. Boom fixed them all to coax..
But as for the socks, We have never had a problem with the wires...
And YES if YOU had an issue you should have sent them back to gerbings ...

And you have a Great day....

I am back in business. The mechanic said the pump was still running but something was fubar with the electronics it was tripping the canbus causing the code. He put in the new pump and all was well.
I think I will get one of the rebuild kits off ebay and rebuild the old assembly ..just in case.

That's doable, just like using a warm and safe heat troller on a Gerbings(I do.)
Now if you use DOT 5 won't work
Like putting a Ford part in a Porsche.

The new Gerbings controllers aren't as nice,IMHOP as the warm and safes.
I had originally bought a Tourmaster Synergy liner.
Talk about a shitty controller.
Ellie and I both went through a couple each. (Controllers)
I bought the micro wire Gerbings because of that and hacked Synergy(voiding all warranty) so I could use the Gerbings controller.
Ellie uses a plug adaptor from Warm and Safe and whichever controller I'm not using(Gerbings or W&S)
Works for us.

Hope it didn't set you back too much.
Now go get a ride in.

We received at least two each from them.
The first replacement was faulty right off the bat, that's when I had enough.
Ellen had one that stayed working but we now use the controller mentioned previously.
That's the problem with heated gear, you tend to underdress when using them so if they fail you can be SOL very quick with dire consequences.
I didn't want to take that chance and would give my Gerbings to Ellie if it came to it(she doesn't ride in the cold as much as I do)

Other than the controller,we both like the Tourmaster product.
I heard the new ones are better,I hope yours works out for you.

See I was told do NOT mix them together .. One is not as moisture resistant as the other.. And yes dot 5 IS totally not mixable with any thing...

Plus one is Synthetic. and one is NOT ...
You'll notice that dot 4 is getting very hard to get...
I was alos told DO NOT put dot 3 in my bikes...

Hey lets face it to each his own... That's what make horse racing..
And I do know that too... I use to race TB's .. And QH's .....

I know people who swear by Tour Master...

Were the replacments the button type or the knob type? Had my first one 3 yrs.,the replacement they sent me seems to be built MUCH MUCH better.
I carry enough clothes with me to keep me warm in case my heated gear F'S up.
I'm happy with the vest instant, even heat.
