They run really well on the road for a 50/50. Just a little squirmy, like I expected, but they roll real nice up to 65. Just a little wobble from 38-42 mph. Probably not balanced well.

Work great on dirt and in gravel. Have not had the opportunity to surf on dry talcum sand. when I get it going on that kind of surface, will report back. I think the combo I have wont push as much in the deep sand. We shall see.

I kept my other tires for when I go primarily on the road, but this year I expect to spend a lot of time in the Southern Utah deserts...

Im going to research tire weight, I know for my Isuzu Vehi Cross SUV I was very concerned about giant off road tire cuz they are so fricken heavy. Then I found some exceptionally lightweight ones and bought them. Probably going to do similar research.

The fall was from my destination, I was riding across a field so I could go look for the R/C plane I lost into the woods on Thursday. Got a little cocky since I was only in a couple inches of snow.

how fast

awesome video Dan0 that's was intense effort. Will the knobbies still do 70+ on slab though is my question. No doubt they are perfect to bring the sf into the woods though!

I don't really hit the highways with it 70mph+ but it's been fine for me the few times have. I'll consistently be on the rural routes 55-65mph and it handles just fine.

Just two more days made a big difference, a few people tracked up part of it on ATV's and the beginning section is out in the open and the sun melted down a bit more.

I subscribe to a magazine called ADVMOTO. I was reading the Editors notes from last months copy and he was explaining where the magazine is headed in 2013 saying they are going to add more smaller bikes to the content. Then he said the Magazine just picked up a KLX250SF which they are going to load with gear, customize, etc. Thought that was worth sharing with you guys. I used to buy it at newstands at major book stores but I subscribed a few months ago, They got a website but I don't visit it too much.

That sounds awesome. If I ever get around to working with my welder I want to expand the rack I already purchased to add some side mounts for cases.

Side note: Picture time.

Dirt road is finally about 75% clear of snow and ice, but there still is some...

Jeeze all that snow, in Wisconsin we got quite a bit in the central and Northern state area. Near Milwaukee though we have almost none. That road looks fun as Hell just as it is! Thanks for posting!

Can't remember if I posted this or not, but anyone still contemplating doing the jet kit and pipe and de-snorkel to his KLX250 needs to stop thinking and do it right now. $300 WELL spent.

It was worth it to just to be able to bump the starter once and it fires to life. Before the jetting it took me trying til the battery was almost dead. Effin sucked.

Bama & Mugwump, thanks for the info. Bama I don't think I can do a pipe & jet for 3 bills. What pipe?
Mugwump- that rack bar set up looks like what I got almost, Im basically 90% there, I just think I'l clamp a MSR fuel bottle to it instead.

I second that pipe question. I'd like to get one for my bike but I wish I could find something cheaper than $300 for a FMF Quiet core.
