Project: CL350!
1972, last registered in '89. My pops paid 50 bucks for it at a NJ yard sale...
![]() Rode my R65 with a buddy on his CBR from NM to NJ and hauled both bikes plus a couple others to NM in this van, bought for a dollar from my brother. We were supposed to ride back but the van deal seemed like a good one. The trip coincided with Goonfest '04, good times. ![]() So the bike sat for a few more years until I started to mess with it, first step was to get it running... ![]() Prior to the test ride it was necessary to replace the tires.. ![]() Clean wheels.. ![]() New sneakers.. ![]() Build a balancer and try it out.. ![]() Remove front end for service of head bearings, fork seals, cleaning, etc.... ![]() Fork leg before/after polish.. ![]() Not a fan of the stock front fender so I punched out the bracket and modified to fit a more appealing fender.. ![]() Remove black paint and polish trees and clamps.. ![]() Fill holes in headlight tins, also smoothed where the ears meet the tubes.. ![]() ![]() I don't like the seam on the top of CL tanks, Bondo! ![]() Not a fan of the whole rear section either, so I modified an old fender.. ![]() Making the tail light bracket.. ![]() Almost there.. ![]() Handlebars changed out... ![]() Front.. ![]() Side.. ![]() Back..

Thanks y'all. I tried to stay super low-budge, using stuff I've accumulated over the years.

I just about shit when i first saw the picture of your bike.....my 71 is just about identical to your "before" picture. ....and i also paid $50 for it. I rode it a bit when i was redoing my Triumph, then my ex-wife learned to ride and used it a bit. When we divorced in 86 she left it behind. I took it to a friend's property and we used it there for a few years and then put it in an old truck body.....it's been there ever since....at least, I HOPE it still is! I haven't checked on it for a couple of years. The property is now for sale so I'm going to retrieve it soon. I plan on getting it roadworthy someday but right now I don't have anyplace to work on it.
