Camping pics

We've been camping rough a lot, is great fun. Is a lot of banter and some great food. Peter has introduced us to the joy of Billy tea, even when it is stinking hot and we're tired.

Think when the water is almost as hot as a cup of tea anyway, we might as well got the whole hog and heat it a smidgeon more and add a tea bag. Stop riding, sneak off road and hide, unload and remove jackets, start fire, brew tea. It seems insane but it is the best thing.

random pic

lots of these little dudes about.

Have been sleeping under the stars, and Si has taught us to see Orion's belt, and then Orion shooting his bow. Those ancient Greeks were were off there chops I think.

Small problem when not using the tent. Smaller the pincers, the more venomous apparently (Simon's Zoology degree paying divi's there)

The mighty Africa Twin thundering past

a big rock, 'nuff said

a BMW in the distance (tiny spec)

The F1200GS mostly hiding my KTM

Another ktm? check out the label above the kick start

Some markets on the edge of... some large city. the villages are way way nicer and sooooo friendly

Orange is turning up everywhere

Think Si is about to burst into song... or maybe is yawning?
(nah, must be launching into a showtune)

taking a break

About to head back and find the others. I got a bit carried away. Bike is awesome though. (they were taking a break and Peter realised he'd better rest his leg and take a tarmac route).

A local bike heading my way

I said ancient Greeks didn't I? I expect they were boozing it up on honey meade and tripping on mushrooms.

Yeah god only knows!! I just tend to stick to Honeydew... great stuff, gets you rat-arsed! If you ever clap your eyes on a bottle of it you have to have a try, very addictive!

A couple more camping pics

comfy enough

I think they were spooning earlier

Just before breakfast this morning. We're staying in a nunnery in Bamako (the sisters run a hostel). A big courtyard for our bikes, mossie nets and comfy beds... although Si's bed was a bit lumpy. Some bastards put bike gloves and bike armour under the mattress protector.

Mate... we're checking for updates almost every day. I even just bought a mobile data stick, so I can get on the net and check up on you while we're on the tractor trek in the south island.

We're all loving being able to see where you are and what you're up to
