Airhead oil (quantity) question
Hey guys, it's been quite a while sice I posted a question to this forum but here goes.
How much oil does it take to go from the min mark to the max mark on a R100GS (PD)? min, max, and oil are all too short for the sucky search tool here. Thanks, Russ Tucson 1990 R100 GSPD |

On this topic, I just need exactly 2 liters of oil when doing an oil change without filter replacement. This brings the level to about 1/8" below the max mark. After several thou kms, the level settles to midway between the min and max marks (which is also the case with cars). Does this mean my R100 only needs 1.5 liters of oil?? Sounds fishy...

Same here.
After an oil and filter change the level is about 2/3 up the stick with 2 ltr. A few 100 km later it settles at about 1/2 or slightly higher. No need to top-up before the next oil change, every 10 kkm. Paul.

It can be confusing. Check out Snowbum's site about "Oil Capacities".
