That's a pretty cool house you got there Mr prop. Right decent of you to have your butler serve your guest some champagne on the roof.

Easy there laddie, one man's beer is another man's swill so to speak.
Some of the liquid I see consumed I would need a knife and fork for looks unpleasant to me. Often some of us need a beverage that harkens back to the golden days of the local brew's that our fathers drank. So "Yellow and Fizzy" may not be your cup of tea (or stein of beer), but occasionally it might be mine.

And as for me, here in The Land of Sky Blue Waters, the words "Flavored" and "Beer" should never go together.

So do you ferment your own cider then? I always fancied trying that, just never got around to it yet.

Keep meaning to give wine a go too at some point.

All in the spirit of ye olde pubbe cameraderie and all that old boy.

My barley wine definitely fits that description:

Sometimes though............it just...............kind of speaks to you...............

When this pic was taken, there was an angelic choir singing.

It was called "Innkeeper Ale" - again not my recipe, one of Northern Brewers seasonals. Keep an eye out for it. It's delicious. In the UK we call it "moreish".

IE when you drink it you tend to say "I'd like more of that".

In the glass it looks thus:

EDIT: Bloody hell! I already posted all these pics!

Guess I'd better brew some more beer and take some more pictures.

So anyway, enough with the ribbings already.

I can host a small homebrewing get together if you like. Maybe we should do that in early June, or late may? What's the general interest level?

In the meantime, trying to decide what to brew. I think I'll keep it simple this go round. I'd like to do an English Pale Ale, maybe something a bit darker - maybe even a stout, and also I want to resurrect a recipe of my own for Summer ale - which is a very pale golden ale. It was quite good last time I made it, and since then I have learned what hop and malt varieties are used in Fullers Summer ale - a favourite of mine from London that I can't get.

As soon as I can get the bike down the road, I'm in! (14" of snow this week and I guess I pissed off the road commissioner because it didn't get plowed, gotta love small town politics), might be May or June.....

I like everything from a good breakfast stout to a crisp, hoppy IPA or even a dry cider. I'm an amateur brewer at best, but I don't mind drinking my mistakes. Like pizza, even the bad ones are pretty good.

Me too. I've had a couple of brews go astray.......one memorable batch that had a stalled fermentation, only to start again and buckle out the aluminum mini kegs it was in.

I got a little more serious about measuring final gravity after that.

And using kegs with pressure relief fittings.

Ummm.....maybe this should be done before the riding season starts?
I would like to participate, but am uncomfortable trying to lug a decent amount of brew on a bike--as well as trying to ride home afterwards.
Just a thought.

Well obviously there would have to be stayover possibilities. I don't have room during winter, but there would be tentage possibilities when warmer anyway. Or we could do a different venue. I don't mind, just an idea.

It looks like you have plenty of tent space when it warms up a bit.

I hope to attend such an event.
