Dont' worry.

Don't stress about it. I traveled from Alaska to Buenos Aires on my GSA and didn't worry about ugle-fying anything. I kept my macbook and DSLR locked in my topcase and my camping gear in a duffle with a pacsafe. Left my Zumo locked on the bike too.

I wouldn't worry about anything people couldn't just snatch off the bike as they walked by. I wouldn't stress about someone taking a crowbar and a drill to your bike.

I've been saving up teaching english for a year in Korea to do this trip, now that I'm back in the states I want to get on the road to TDF in about a month (beginning of october). Still a lot to do though, so wish me luck.

I hear that teaching in Korea pays well (compared to other countries). This true?

Mexico and Central America 2011

I know I'm jumping ahead a few months, but I'm planning on leaving for a long trip to Mexico and Central America in early March 2011. Anyone interested in kicking off the trip with me? I'm leaving from New Mexico, but haven't chosen a border crossing yet. :

Sarah,
Welcome to ADV. I check out your website. Great, way to go. Wish I had your adventours spirt when I was your age.

I am planning to head to Panama early January, 2011 returning, say around late March to April. I will be starting from my rental house in Sonora, Mexico, but am currently in the Denver area. I will be on my 07 KLR. I normally ride solo, but if there is anyone heading this way, perhaps we can join forces for a while.

I am also looking to do some Copper Canyon riding in November/december. I am specifically looking to do the back roads, not just the easy dirt. I have been to Bato about 7 times and one time all the way across to El Fuerte on a 1200 GS (never again, beat the shit out of that beast). This time I have a DRZ400.

I am looking to see if there are any other dirt oriented riders out there planning to do some riding in CC in Nov/dec, that would not mind an easy going mid-aged woman rider joining. My dirt skills are decent, but I am no speed demon.
