This is the Famous Rock House Restaurant on Mulholland highway. A real biker meeting place. Jay Lenno will often show up.
Apparently a lot of stunting goes on here. Sometimes they have entertainment in the courtyard.
Met this cool couple from San Francisco, they pulled in 2 up on a Honda XR650L which they had trailer-ed down. They do all kinds of adventure riding all over the place. They had told of some other cool spots for dual sporting.

Cool looking couple on the XR650. Who's the goofy lookin guy in Yellow?

Darn it. I generally like to think of myself as tall! NOT!
Tall Rob. Nice guy!

Great recommendation Erica.

Parked Beside the 3 most ADV looking bikes at Neptunes Net. Great restaurant.
Got food, place was packed, managed to find a spot & spoke with 3 other riders who ended up being the owners of the Adventure bikes.
John, Adam & Tom.

So we did a little ride together. Lotsa fun!

That John guy had some saintly aura about him!!

This was cool! Last of Malibu.

I had asked Erica if she knew of any good venues for live Country & Western Music.

As for country bars, the closest I can think of has select country nights with live music. Might want to check the schedule on their website:

Joe's Great American Bar & Grill
4311 W Magnolia Blvd
Burbank, CA 91505
http://www.joesgreatbar.com

There's also another bar that has a country-rock band playing on Wednesday nights. Small, divey bar. If you can make it, check this bar out:

The Cinema Bar
3967 Sepulveda Blvd
Culver City, Ca 90230
http://www.cinemabar.net

I did go to The Cinema Bar. It was as she described but unfortunately the band had canceled. They brought a guy to entertain but he was cry amatuer. The bar was very small. I wouldn't go back.

I did find via Google 2 awesome Country & Western Venues.
Friday night I went to:

Cowboy Palace Saloon
# With its regular cowboy clientele and real horse hitching post out front, this lively country western club in Chatsworth is truly authentic. Many regular customers are actually western stuntmen who breed and train horses for a living. Cowboy Palace Saloon hosts live country music seven nights week and features a classic saloon-style wooden bar, free barbecues, and a casual, fun atmosphere. Famous artists that have graced the stage at Cowboy Palace include the Dixie Chicks, Lou Diamond Phillips, Eddy Money, Riders of the Purple Sage, and Wanda Jackson. Nightly dance lessons teach the essentials of the cotton-eyed joe, two-step, ten-step, swing and other popular country dances.

It was a really great barn. Got a very reasonable hotel right next door.

Saturday night I went to:

Cowboy Palace Saloon
21635 Devonshire St.
Chatsworth, CA 91311
818-341-0166
cowboypalace.com
Cowboy Country Saloon
# With its multilevel 15,000-square-foot dance hall, large performance stage, pool room and two full bars, Country Cowboy Saloon in Long Beach has been voted "Best Country Bar in LA" by Los Angeles magazine. Since 1999, this authentic country western club has hosted innumerable live country music acts, line-dancing parties, competitions and special events. Weekly events include Friday Jager Night, Wednesday's ladies-only Passion Party and line-dancing workshops every Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cowboy Country Saloon's menu features authentic Tex-Mex and cowboy cuisine like chicken quesadillas, jalapeño poppers and country fried steak with mash potatoes.

Cowboy Country Saloon
3321 E. South St.
Long Beach, CA 90805
562-630-3007
cowboycountry.mu

This place was huge & amazing & packed & everyone there just seemed to be having such a great time. It was really Cool & I would highly recommend this place.
Only down side was no decent accommodation anywhere close-by.

Rode on this very long beach at... where was that, oh ya, Long Beach.
No kickstand required.

Cool how you can see the snow capped mountains in the distance.

South of Long Beach.

Headed to Palm Springs.

I liked this plaque.

This was a great road going down.

I got a great deal staying at a golf resort, Indian Wells. It was beautiful & didn't cost much more than the dive I stayed at in Long Beach.
Nicest & warmest weather of the trip. I really enjoyed the Hot Tub & pool. That was the only swimming opportunity of the trip.

The golf course was beautiful!

Took this picture of this couple I saw there. I heard they were regulars there & actually owned the place at one time.

I'd heard a lot about how nice Palm Springs was.
Yes it sure is!

A lotta Palm trees there.

& springs.

Fly-ride 11 Wrapup

Well I left palm Springs for Yuma Arizona.
Stayed with sister Cathy & brother in law Larry for a few days. Thanks Guys!
Had to get the bike ready for Central America/ Panama which was to be the next trip.
I had a bunch of stuff shipped to thier place.
Replaced the Battery, Chain, & Front sprocket. Cleaned the air filter. Installed a new Tankbag: "Packsafe", lockable.
Replaced my luggage rack which had shaken/broken apart on the offroad adventures.
Decided to take my new rear tire along with me as the one on is not yet wore out but will probably only be good for another 3-5K max. This should also make sure the new tire will last long enough for the Panama trip & back.
Got in a few golf games as well. The highlite was Emerald Canyon by Lake Havasu. Here are a few pictures at Emerald Canyon.
It was a couple hours out of Yuma so we spent the nite there.

Got back from Lake Havasu & did the final preps on bike.
Phoenix next day.
Got storage for Suzi. Same Storage location as November 2009.
I had now done a complete loop, over a year long, inclusive of 2 trips to Mexico, north to Canada & so many points between getting back to Phoenix again.
The weather has been totally amazing. Migration is awesome! As is the west. 11 trips west & if I had not had rain gear it wouldn't have mattered I had so little of.
I am i that lucky, or is it really always that great out West?

End of another absolutely awesome trip.

Flew-home.

Mexico south?

Roland, are you planning to ride the rest, Mexico to Panama as one trip? We had a great time in Nicaragua and if you're in Leon you need to go volcano boarding. Something Christine talked me into. It can make road rash look nice Don

Question Who is subscribed to this report?

Well I am way behind and updating will take a lot of time. So I would just like to determine the amount of interest in this ride report.
Who out there is subscribed to this report?
