A New Gotta-Have Super Repair Substance

There are miracle substance out there many of us have subsumed into our lives and even take for granted, like Silicone 1 sealant, Scotch 33+ electrical tape, zip ties, etc. Some of us collect these precious solutions.

I recently spent time with a Grand Junction friend, Mark B. Knowing my penchant for collecting such things, he gave me a tube of a super adhesive copolymer and said it was a miracle substance. Now, after three shoe repairs, a boot repair, and fixing 14" of plastic fender cracks on a 1985 ATV, I agree! It's like Shoe Goo only much better.

Here it is:

He buys the stuff by the case and uses it in his construction business. I haven't yet figured out how to buy it. I can find it on Google but not for sale. I'm going to call the company.

Seriously folks, this my best new find in many years! Just lay it on, put spit on your finger, and form and spread it around. In shoes you just squoze it in the sole then use electrical tape to hold stuff together until cure. Cures overnight to tough enough to hold up a full event even on footpeg teeth!

Seems a lot like Goop which I have used as a universal repair item. Urethane based it is very tough but still flexible. J&B weld takes care of the ridged repairs. Always looking for something better, thanks.

Your friend won't tell you where he buys it? You need new friends.

Looks like the manufacturer, State Chemical out of OH, sells in bulk to schools and businesses. Here's their contact info. You can also "request a quote". http://statechemical.com/contact-sta...ical-solutions

I'm finding more and more uses for this stuff. I keep racking up successful repairs. So far every plastic and shoe sole/boot repair has been cast-iron reliable, even filling in the gouges on the bottom of my Gaerne boots where the footpegs dig in. I just returned from a 700-mile dual sport ride in New Mexico and Colorado and checked under my boot. The repair made it through Sipapu two days and this ride. Very impressive!

State Chemical does not sell 'to the public', only to businesses they consider legit. I set up an account and ordered a case of 12. The cost to my door was a $280 or $23 a tube! If it wasn't THAT good I'd not have done that for sure.

I will experiment with selling my excess. If too few want to pay an added $7 for handling I'll not bother and just supply myself.

I'll bring some to the Trenton, MO Central Regional this weekend for the curious.
