Purchased the bike last May, and all but one bearings in the swing arm and shock link were a nice rusty frozen muck!!!
Looks like it did the job!...... (here's comes the disclaimer) of course I don't recommend you strike the bike when it's on the stand, but in the end it's up to you to make that decision and take the responsibility for yourself. (end disclaimer)

Getting ready for the TAT sounds like a great adventure! Any pics or stories of using the Trail Stand on your trip would be great posted here or in a ride report!
Thanks for the posts and have a great trip, I look forward to seeing a ride report!

Last summer when me and two others rode the TAT from CO back to AR, I suffered 11 flats..my trail stand sure came in handy, more than once!

At the Ponca City Fire Stn..

Tnx Steve for a fine item! We have 3 of them here in this household!

Too late as my lawyer (Dewey, Cheatham and Howe) sent you a certified letter seeking compensation as the bike fell over and killed a beetle, which was on the endangered species list. But look on the brite side your contribution it going to help pay for an extended trip!!!

I didn't mean you One Less Harley You obviously know what your doing, almost all of us dual-sport riders are resourceful and responsible but you now how it is these days.

Are you planning to do a ride report for the TAT? If so I always like the ones that start before you head out, showing the process of planning and getting ready before the ride. That would be cool, if/when you do one post a link to it here!

Check out my signature for the link to the ride report. Probably taking off mid to late June. It's all prep work right now, no good RR pictures yet though. I'm looking forward to the ride.....wish I could go right now, but for the higher elevations it's good to go later.

Hi Steve, This is one image showing part of the view of 'my back yard'. This is the Jamieson Valley showing Mt. Solitary in the center. The long view of land on the left is Kings Tableland. Over the years, I have walked and bicycled all that can be seen in this image. Very special country. Similar to that around the Blue Ridge Parkway in the States where my wife and I rode bicycles from bottom to Roanoake back in 90. Rod

Doc's dust

I ride some with Doc "Flatman" Lewall.

Meaning, this stand is a necessity (see post 182 in this thread).

I ordered mine today. If Doc can figure out how to use it, it really is idiot proof. I might actually be able to figure it out!

Thanks Valentino! It's pretty straight forward as I'm sure you know, I have what may be overly detailed instructions inclulded.

Wow 11 Flats on 3 bikes from Colorado to Arkansas! That has to be some kind of record!
Where you guys following the rusty nail truck?

Wow, has the DRZ been on that nifty portable TRAIL STAND the entire time? Where did you get that? Looks like it could come in handy! (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Why yes it is...... It had been propping the bike up for 16 days, maybe more while I was waiting on the swing arm bearing to arrive. Now for the real story...It was sitting outside in three different storms, and two of which were tornado watches, and each morning when checking on it...there she stood just the way I left it the previous night. How's that for an endorsement, no rust showing up during that time either!!!! Nice size and light weight!! Nifty contraption.

Okay I can't handle it any more! I've been looking at your stand for a year now... Simple, small and functional. Just placed an order....finally...
