The following Saturday I went for another ride.

I found the place, but I was too late to claim it.

Here are the murals from left to right.
The jeep was in the way for the first two !

I enlarged the name of the artist.
It is the same guy who did the mural on Clayton's Self Storage (page 47).

Did you note the addition of facial hair on the one kid?

I can't stand seeing people defacing property, but I found that funny !

I had thought about using this place myself, but I was going to use the big gray 'motor' on the other side of the building.

So here's the story.

I left late because I had some stuff to do in the morning.

I rode by what is now our old church building and got some pictures of the outside because there was nobody there and I did not have any pictures of it.

Use to be a warehouse.

I went to the get my pictures of the murals.

Then went by what is now our new church building.

This use to be an indoor soccer facility.
There was a church in there before us but they could not maintain it with the small congregation they had.

I then rode to Mays Landing to upload my pictures for the mural Tag and found I was the first looser. A Bruce !

I was going to get some pictures of a recent Tag but it was getting late, and already dark, and there is no real lighting there.

So I decided to go to where I was going to go anyway and get some pictures and then see where the new Tag was and hope for the best.

I had been wanting to do this place for quite a while.
I was actually saving it for a Garden State Tag-O-Rama Tag.

But oh well !

My initial intent was to park my bike in front of one of those toy soldiers.

But When I got there the place was packed.
Well, I guess it was two weeks before Christmas on a Saturday night ! ! !

What was I expecting !

I pull into the parking lot at one end, on the right.
One guy directs me down the parking lot.
Another guy motions us all down further.
Then another, and another ...

I was thinking that they were sending us to the land of Far Far Away ! ! !

I pulled left just before an exit and examine my options.

Ahhh !!! A picture from across the highway.
Now is there any place to pull over, as I look across into the darkness !

Found it I did !

So I go down and make a U-Turn and pull off the road across from Light Bright Castle into a small
driveway and set up my tripod and start taking pictures.

If you notice, the lights always seem to be a different color.
The lights change fairly quickly from white to blue to purple.
I was trying to get a shot of each color, but with the longer exposures I had to do they all meshed together.

After I got home I wish I had taken a movie of this with my point and shoot !

That swirley thing was a small ferris wheel.

Storybook Land 20 Acres of Family Fun !

Making Memories since 1955.

I did find a video on YouTube placed by Storybook Land which shows this place all lit up.
They have a gazillion lights here.
They only counted 1,000,000.

It is really quite spectacular to see.
Even from across the road !

I just figured I would go back when the place is closed and get my Wooden Toy Soldier riding a PC !

So I get my pictures and head back to see if a new Tag was placed.

One was, but I had to figure out where it was with my computer/notebook looking like this and only able to use about 3/4 of the letters on the keyboard !

I was able to decipher enough to get me to the place.
But I had to retrace my route almost exactly back past our new church building and almost past the GE Mechanical mural.

What this is is a spillway at the end of Parvin Lake in Parvin State Park.

You kind of know my take on ghosts, but I don't know where this guy came from.

And all those orbs !!

Well, mine look more like oyster crackers !

And to make things even more interesting it was starting to snow !

I'd better get home !

Just got back from a nice ride today. (3/8/2012)

The temperature was in the mid 60's.
The sun was out.
I took the day off !

The only negative thing was the wind.

I made a mile stone today too.

For the first time in my 3 1/2 years of riding I actually scraped a foot peg !

No, I wasn't gong 100 miles per hour around a hair pin curve.
I was riding a road I had been on before at my usual PC pace !
A jaunt right and a quick jaunt left and I heard it and felt it !

I was actually surprised because I didn't think I was any further over then some other times I lean.
But there it was.

A short ways down the road after that I see a sign at a fire station blinking the time.
I thought that unusual.
But I remember the time: 2:41.

So on March 8, 2012 at 2:41 PM I scraped my first foot peg.

Ain't ya proud a me pa ?

Here was the rest of today.
Well, at least the part without Tagging !

So we took a nice leisurely ride to Washington Crossing, PA

This is Bowman's Tower.

125 feet tall and built between 1929-1931 out of local stone.
When I was a kid they use to have wooden stairs inside to walk up.
Later became dilapidated.
Then they put in an elevator.

We rode up the hill, but the park entrance was blocked off so we did not get to go up the steep part to the tower.

So off to the local covered bridge.

Van Sandt Covered Bridge.
Built in 1875.

Took a rest at the bottom of Bowman's Hill.

New boots too !

Wound our way up through Bucks County and back over the Burlington Bristol Bridge.

Had dinner.
Stopped at work to take care of something and took this picture of the moon and clouds.

A beautiful day.

I will post these places once I figure out if I am making a new map for 2012 stuff.

EDIT:
April 24, 2012

These stops will be on my new 2012 map.
Here are the locations.

So back to December 2011.
Christmas Eve to be exact !

Storybook Land sat for five days.
The grabber posted this place.

This is called Sawyer's House and is behind Kirby's Mill that I posted on page 27.
You can see a piece of it on the left in the background on the third picture of that post.

Sawyer's House on the West Jersey History Project, once again, down under #30.
Built sometime just after the mill which was built in 1778.

This, along with Kirby's Mill, is part of the Medford Historical Society.
They are turning this building into their library.

New drop was this nativity set I had been wanting to do.

I have always liked the looks of their building sitting back in the woods.

So here we were closing out 2011 on the 29th of December.

Not closing out on Tagging, but getting to the end of 2011.

This is of course a Boy Scout Camp in South Jersey near the shore.

Joseph Citta led a pretty interesting life and died at the age of 100.
His obituary explains how this Boy Scout Camp got it's name.

And here is a link for the camp itself.

This church was just down the road and I had wanted to visit this for quite a while.

I guess I just liked the setting of this nice looking little church.

And I was not disappointed when I got there and looked around.

I liked the Jesus above the door.

So peaceful, serene and welcoming.
Kind of 'matter of factly' saying, come on in, it's fine.

The nativity set caught my eye.

Joseph: "Mary, I love you so much."
Mary: "Ephen in spite of'the fact phat my nophe is miffing?"
Joseph: "Yes Mary, if you do not mind the fact that I am loosing my hair and have a giant hole in my back."
Jesus: "Hey, could I get some clothes over here, I'm cold !"

That's the part that was left out of the script !

I could not decide whether to post these or not because of the bad reflection.

Moses with wind blown hair while dropping the two tablets.

Jesus teaching.

I guess it's like having two pictures in one !

I am trying to remember how the ride went this day because we stopped at a lot of places.

I believe this was next, and was my Tag drop after picking up the Boy Scout Camp.

The reason I picked this shed was because it was in the parking lot and is accessible at night.

My family and I had been here several years ago.
I thought I had pictures of the other buildings inside the park.
You know, the ones that are off limits to vehicles.

I could not find them, so unfortunately this is all I have.

The sign on the way out.

Hey, you can't give to much information away at one time !

I posted this later.

In the 1770's it is said that the mill pond dam was destroyed twice in one season by heavy rains giving this park it's name.

The historic town setting denotes the Cranberry Industry that has been here since the 1860's.
The State purchased the land in 1964 and has leased out the cranberry bogs to local farmers, their last harvest was in 2010.

Also at this location there was an extensive lumber industry among which they harvested White Cedar Trees.

Double Trouble State Park including a video tour.

More info on Double Trouble.

And we took Double Trouble Road to our next stop.

I actually found this place by accident.

There is a lake in front of what use to be a high class hotel.
The original pictures were taken from the other side of the lake.
I did not see a place through the trees to get a decent picture so I rode up to it.

Here was part of the clue.
"Rumour has it that "public enemy #1" (aka, Al Capone) frequented this former hotel (Royal Pines Hotel) because of easy escape tunnels under this "crystal lake".

The scoop from National Park Service, under "Pinewald".
NPS, so you know it must be true !

Here is a local discussion forum talking about the hotel and area history including links.

I had been looking for this place almost since I have been riding.

Nice huh ! ?

I don't know; I guess because it is odd ! ! !

Read this fine history report on WeirdNJ and then look at what is left of this 1914 "sanctuary".

I'll just go around the outside from the front around to the back.

Composite of some tiles I saw.

Looking over the fence on the back left side.

Here are some older pictures before the fences and ivy covered some of it up.

Some one had mentioned this not to long ago so I asked again if anyone knew where it was and a gracious fellow rider gave me the GPS coordinates.

Just one more thing I wanted to see before it gets worse, or torn down.

And those two guys picked a great name for their magazine and books, WeirdNJ !
