I had wanted to do another Tag, then another, and then another, but I finally had to settle for this sign.

I normally do not like to do these kinds of signs, but !
My first tag location was blocked with snow and ice.
My second tag location was along the Delaware River and I got stuck in snow/ice and water. Not easy to get out of on street tires.
My third choice was a big mud puddle with snow thrown in for good measure.
SO, I did this nice sign !

The mill was located at the depression at the end of this lake.
Braddock's Lake, or Braddocks Millpond !

Braddock's Mill, #1 on the list.

The following Saturday I head for the Butcher's.

They do small animals only !

The wood used to construct this building is said to come from the old Lighthouse Keepers house at Barnegat Light.

All of the buildings were moved here at one time or another to preserve them.

The Barber Shop, circa 1880

Someone's house.

I was beginning to think I was in Munchkin Land !

I think the corn crib was bigger than the butcher shop !

And I thought a picture of this was necessary !

From there I rode south on Route 9 to Bass River.

This use to be the Bass River Marina back in the 1980's-1990's.
My wife's parents use to dock their boat here back then.

Now it is Viking Yachting Center
.

Of course being February this was the off season !

Viking Yachts makes some nice boats next door and they purchased this when it was up for sale.

I had always liked this little castle for some reason.

I no sooner get home and someone had gotten my castle Tag.

They had the State Tag and dropped it at the same marina but from a different angle.

Sooooo, being one to want to ride I headed back out to where I had just come from !

It is a nice ride out to there.

I tried me a fancy picture.

The water tower was the Tag, and it belongs to Viking Yachts next door.

I had been saving this place for a Garden State Tag for quite a while.

This person has thousands of these things.

Along the fence line.

On pole trees in his yard.

Linning his driveway.

Just everywhere on the property.

I had a hard time finding this place.
The only directions I had I found on WeirdNJ.
I tried this road a couple of times starting at different places.
And I finally found it in September of 2010.

They call it the Insulator House !
(For you yung'ns, that stands for telephone pole wire glass isulators.)
They even have names for all of the parts on these insulators.
Like, how many parts can there be ?
Check this out !

WeirNJ's article on this place, and an interview with the owner.

The person who grabbed my Viking Castle dropped this for a Tag.

Yeah, night picture with my point and shoot.
Only because I was on the shoulder of a somewhat busy road.

I went back during the day.

I just realized that every windmill in this area is painted yellow !
There are a couple of more on farms near here.

I always thought this grader was pretty neat, but I never thought to look it up before.

Turns out the Galion 503-G grader is the name and model number, not the house number !

Looks like this is a 1959 model.
One just recently sold on E-Bay for $8,500.

And just in case anyone is interested in the history of Motor Graders !

No real information on this yellow windmill on Route 206 in Tabernacle, NJ.
Sorry !

My Insulator House was picked up by the person I thought would get it.

He works near there so I thought he would recognize it without even having to look it up !

He dropped this flower business, because it was Valentines Day.

I rode here before work, ... in the dark, ... in the cold, ... insanity setting in !

World Class Flowers is a wholesale flower distributor, so no roses for the wife.

But nothing says "I Love You" like:

I really stopped by for their sign.

Hey, it was on the way to work ! ! !

Notice there are two back seats, and one for the chauffer !

I used this for my Southern Tag.

Looks like their mobile office.

OK, maybe not-so-mobile !

I can not figure out what the base is made out of ?

I do see people here once in a while.

I do not ride down here much.

I have seen smokers here on trailers, so they probably do a mobile business of some kind.

And after work I went out to drop the State Tag.

That was one of my last pictures.
I was not going to try that because of the narrow sidewalk next to a
busy road plus the bushes and there was still some snow laying around.

It was also getting late.

But I would have kicked myself if I at least did not try !

Listed as Enco or Esso Tigers and later on, Exxon Tigers, they were advertising characters from the 1960's & 1970's.

Looking West on Route 168, aka Black Horse Pike.

Looking East at the Exit for Interstate 295.

A Butt Shot.

Day pictures taken in September 2009.

I keep thinking there is something spelled out in his chest hair !

Probably just me ! ! !

ExxonMobile history back to 1859.

Put a tiger in your tank advertising.

Some very interesting Tiger Advertising history.

I did not give too many clues for this because if you just search for "Exxon Tigers NJ" it will come right up.
But of course the younger generation would not know about that slogan.

I actually found these on Roadside America.

My tigers were finally picked up two days later !

I went for the next one which was further north.
We went at night after work, and while we were out the wind started to pick up pretty strong.
But we got through it.

There is a church in the background that is hard to see because of the trees.
Being inside a cemetery it of course is closed at night time.
So a gate picture would have to suffice.

Even with the tripod the pictures came out blurry from the wind.

I did not have the tripod for my tiger tag.
Or could you tell !

The Tag was pretty interesting.

So, while we were out.

I talked my wife into a longer ride ! ! !

Called the "Little Red Schoolhouse Museum" it is the location of the Waretown Historical Society.

Do you know how many little red schoolhouses there are ?
This one is actually a replica of the one used in this town from the 1800's through 1958.

Actually, part of my intent was to get a night picture of this on the way, and use it for the Southern Tag.

I had been by here in the daytime too previously.

I just found this sign unique.

The pool needs some work.

But there were some vacancies left.

It looked more like apartments than a hotel !

I could not find any information about this Moon Motel, but it has to date back to the 50's or 60's.

And just in case you were wondering, here is the other side of the sign.

Same thing, just reversed.

Speaking of windy ! ! !

This is King Neptune in Atlantic City.

Now Atlantic City is on an island.
And you have to go over some bridges to get to it.
And wind likes blowing things off of bridges.
Especially little lightweight objects going at fast speeds.

So good thing my bike is heavy and I don't speed !

And I mean this day, it was WINDY ! ! !

Now, I seriously doubt if Charlton Heston posed for this statue !

I think this looks like his portrayal of Moses in "The Ten Commandments" !

Located over by the Atlantic City Aquarium in the Historic Gardner's Basin.

No other informative information found on this nice statue.

Did I mention it was windy?

So while I was down here on this windy day I stopped at a Tag that was done several days before.

This is not a real lighthouse.
It was originally a real estate development office.

Originally called the Island Development Real Estate Company they built this attraction in 1926.
We will just call it the "Brigantine Lighhouse".
During the Depression this building was used as a police department, and later as a museum and gift shop.
But with traffic getting heavy, even though this is a dead end island, they had to nix
that idea for peoples safety, because as you can see, it is in a traffic circle.

Looks nice where it is though.

This is Eagle Bay, looking back toward Absecon Bay.

Nice old Army Truck by the bay.

The name "Brigantine" came from a type of 1600s ship; perhaps one of the first of over three hundred
vessels wrecked on the notorious offshore shoals - during a two hundred year period.

Info from the history tab.

That yellow thing over the front door is a blinking yellow light so people don't hit the building at night time.
