Next we head out back of his property !!!

Up next to the building is this HUGE one that is taller than the building.

These are more of his "NEW NATURE" creations.

Then at the extreme rear of the property are these window looking pieces of art.

And these flower arrangements !

From the back of the property looking up towards the road.

To my left now are these things that look like Bone Trophies !

Here is that giant Steel Root from another angle.

Spaghetti ?

Another giant Steel Root swirl.

Another flowerpot ?

Something caught my eye.
And it turned out to be shadows of the long curvy wires sticking out of the white disk.

Moving up more toward the road.

I had seen a rail siding when I was up front, but it was no longer connected to a main line.

Therefore I was surprised to still see train cars next to the building.
Especially a caboose !

I just thought it was more of the art exhibit !

Then back up front to the Termite Mounds.

And another fine creation !

That had been the Philly Tag-O-Rama Tag, so I had to drop a new one.

And I had just the thing !

I had passed this back in July when we were over here at Revzilla, the Philadelphia Navy Yard and the SS United States ocean liner.

How I got here tonight I could not totally tell you.
I was following the Purple Line !

Sounds like I was doin' somethin' I hadn'ta outa done !

I tooled down Bethlehem Pike, past Montgomeryville Cycle at some point,
wound up on Germantown Avenue, which has two sets of trolly tracks and coblestone on the sides of the road by the way,
then somehow onto Broad Street,
took a short tour through what looked like China Town (not being racist, that is what it is called),
Then somehow wound up on West Oregon Avenue to see Father Time !

I will say however, it took FOREVER to get here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beings the New Year was only 5 days away.

As I road by then I thought this was Howard Hughes in his germaphobic state !

Turns out this is a statue of Walt Whitman the poet.
Who at the end of his life lived in Camden, NJ.

Sorry, I did not have a tripod with me !

This statue, head, is located at Whitman Plaza on Oregon Street.

The list of stores at Whitman Plaza.

I finally tried the flash to see if it would come out any better.

Washed out the nice relief of Walt Whitman on the front.

Just before I left I road down on the sidewalk and took a more risque picture!

An article on philly.com entitled "America Salutes Its Celebrated Poet Walt Whitman Died 100 Years Ago Tomorrow"
The article says that Whitman was born, raised and worked in New York City,
but they do not have one statue of him.
Philadelphia has one full statue, this head, and the Walt Whitman Bridge,
which I took to get back into NJ !
But Whitman did not live in Philadelphia either.
He apparently visited here a lot.
Probably did not use the bridge, because it was not even thought of yet !
And I do not know how many statues there are of him in New Jersey.
Perhaps I need to check into that !

This head was done by Leonard Baskin in 1981, as the plaque says.
Which is good they had that because there is not much on the internet about this statue.

Here is what I did find on "Philadelphia Public Art".

Now it was time to drop a Garden State Tag-O-Rama Tag.

I had wanted to go further South, but I was already on the road for 12 hours.
The weather and the cold were not a problem, but I had left my passenger at home and wanted to get back to her.

So I stopped on the other side of the Walt Whitman Bridge in Camden to a place I had wanted to see anyway.

This is called Pomona Hall.
And no one is even sure where that name comes from !

This is what looks like a fountain on the corner.

It looks like there are three buildings here that were eventually attached.

The front door to the main building.

This is in front of the other building behind where my bike is parked.

The sign says: Camden County Historical Society

Why they would put the county historical society in Camden is beyond me !

Actually, from what I have heard this is not a bad section of Camden.

Then again some people will tell you there is NO good section of Camden !

There was an original wooden structure built here in 1718.
I do not know if they tore that down or built around it for the nice brick house you see here built in 1726.
The date is done in a brick pattern on the end wall.
My pictures are too dark to see it.
You know what that means!
A day trip !
Another section was added in 1788 when a well-to-do descendant of the founders of this city lived here.

Camden County Historical Society, with pictures of the inside of this nice house.

Pomona Hall on Wikipedia

A little information on NJ Historic Trust

A nice writeup and pictures on South Jersey Explorer . com

It looks like the brick pattern is on the other gable end of the building.
So I have to go back anyway !!!

And that my friends was 2013.

2014

Started riding on New Years Day 2014.

You can never start to early !

I went out for the Southern Tag because I thought it was interesting,
and it was not too far.

Plus I got those pictures of recent tags during the day that I posted.

This was the house I was looking for.

This is a Brick Pattern House that I had never seen before.
I did not realize there were any of these in my area.
I thought they were all further south in and around Salem and Cumberland Counties.

The house is called Jacob Wills House.
I then wonder why the initials are "I" and "M".
The "W" would stand for Wills everyone assumes.

A picture of the front of this nice old house.

A Brick Pattern House on Brick Road !

As far as I could gather the brick part of the house was built first,
then the clapboard siding section added sometime later,
then the shed looking section probably after that.

Some great history on this area which mentions the Wills Family and this house quite a bit on Living Places, Evesham Township.
It mentions that the Wills Family came to this area from England in 1677 aboard the ship Kent which landed in Burlington, NJ in December of that year.

Here are some great older pictures of the inside and outside of this house,
plus drawings at the Library of Congress, Historical American Buildings Survey.

After I got the Tag I took pictures of the next one.

A closer picture of the building.

This is Health Haven II in Medford, NJ.

I have been going here for a little while to keep my health in check instead of relying upon pharmaceutical medications.

The owner is very helpful and very knowledgeable and I always look forward to going here.

He puts it this way:
"...we offer exceptional products and service for when You're Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired..."

And that I was.
Tired of being sick and tired!

I also wind up spending less then I think I will.
He has pretty good prices for the fine nutritional procuts he sells.

I then road back home to pick up my wife and we road to a friends house in Eastampton,
then to another friends house in Williamstown and later that night back home again.

We wound up riding just over 100 miles on the first day of 2014.

Let's see what the rest of the year holds.

Not much riding was going on after the first day of the year !

I had to get to work, and with no knobbies on the PC, I had to take the truck.

Terrible plowing here in South Jersey.

I got on the State Highway and there were plows out, so the traffic was pretty slow.

Until we got to the first convenience store !

There were SIX dump trucks with plows on them just sitting there while we slide around on the roads !

We got snow.

Then more snow.

Then once that was all gone we got some ice.

Needless to say, I have not been riding much !

The Temperatures here dropped to 3*.
That is pretty low for New Jersey.
We do not see that much in these parts.

Believe it or not some of our guys were out riding in this stuff.
On street bikes !

And with some great pictures too !

I SPRANG FOR THE 2013 TRIUMPH TROPHY SE !

January 4, 2014 we put the down payment on.

Probably the only picture you have seen of me without a helmet and gear on !

Now you know why !

There was too much snow and ice around to take the PC there.

We put some add ons, which is why it took a while for us to get the bike.

No problem, because the roads were not ride-able anyway !

We added:
Top Box with the blue cover
Back Rest for my wife
Heated Grips for when I ride in temperatures below freezing
Heated Seats mostly for my wife (I made mine heated too while we were at it, plus the heated seat is higher than the stock seat, which works out good for me.)
Front Fender Guard to keep junk out of the radiator
GPS Mount

This thing is loaded !
It has more gadgets than my truck has !

Lets' see if I can remember them all, in no specific order:
ABS Brakes
Traction Control
Electronically Adjusted Suspension, that is what the SE stands for
Cruise Control
AM / FM / Weather / Satalite Radio, with a USB port in the Glove Box for an MP3 Player, which I do not have anyway
2 regular size 12 Volt Sockets, one in the Glove Box and one in the Top Case
2 BMW size 12 Volt Sockets, one by the driver and one by the passenger, I assume for heated gear
Adjustable Windshield
Adjustable Headlight up & down
2 Trip settings with all kinds of stuff, MPG, Trip Distance, Trip Time, Average Speed, etc., etc
Thermometer
Clock
Tire Pressure Monitoring system
All cases are lockable and easily removable

Just a plethora of electronic stuff to give me trouble miles down the road !

Mine is in the back.
The one in the front is a 2014 model they just got in.
As far as I know they are exactly the same.

Got all of the paper work together and a short tutorial of how to work things and....

We Are Ready to Roll.

I had to leave the PC there and I am picking it up later today.

I decided to keep my beloved OLD PC because there are no electronics on the thing.
Pretty straight forward.
Just a lot of plastic to remove and break tabs off of to fix it.
And it rattles quite a bit in the winter time !

The Trophy is pretty mean looking in the front !

But with those headlights I don't even need auxiliary lights.

The first try I did not that was pretty annoying !!!!

We put 150 miles on it yesterday and some of that at night.

I am well pleased with the way it rides.
The test ride I did on it pretty much made up my mind.

Here are the specs on the 1215cc Engine and 6 Speed Transmission with Shaft Drive from Triumph Motorcycles.

As of now I am not figuring on changing my Screen Name.
I love the PC and I hope to keep it for a while.
We will see what the future holds.

Thank you all for your kind sentiments.
I appreciate it.

The thing rides like a dream.
But then I haven't ridden too many bikes in my 5 1/2 years of riding.

We like it just fine.

I am already planning a big trip.

When this snow stops of course !

We are getting a lot of snow right now.
So far looks like 7 or 8 inches, and it is supposed to snow through the night.

No riding on any bike tomorrow !
Or for the rest of the week from the looks of it.
Single digit temperatures for the next three nights.
And not going to be above freezing for at least a week.
Probably won't be riding until sometime in February !

Yeah we got hit pretty good today up in Old Bridge -looked like about 10" on the ground by the time I got home from work. Its still going strong - at least the roads were clean.

We did not get as much here.

It also snowed for the weekend and again the following week.
The shore areas got around 10" but we only got 2"

We were finally able to get out today to ride.

It warmed up into the upper 30's on Friday and into the 40's today.

That helped clear the roads pretty good and no chance of Black Ice after the sun came out.

We stopped several places and then had lunch at Chick-Fil-A.
After that we headed for less congestion and visited our daughter at the EMS station she was manning today.

While we were there I see two big boards with patches from other EMS stations in NJ.
I took pictures of some, for different reasons.

I love the old ambulance on this one.

A friend of ours (Rob) lives up near Fort Lee.
The bridge is the George Washington Bridge that we visited in 2012 on Bruce Run III.

I thought a frog was kind of odd for an EMS logo !
But I guess it keeps the patients amused and takes their minds off of their condition.

I liked this one also because of the old Cadillac Ambulance.

Hoboken.
I was expecting to see Sybil's Cave on there !

I still have to get to Ho-ho-kus just because the name is so cool !

I was shocked when I saw Hamburg's patch.
That is the Gingerbread Castle on there.
We saw that on Bruce Run I back in 2009!

It looks better on the patch than it did in person !

And of course the PC in front of a bigger snow pile !

A dirty one at that !

We get dirty snow in New Jersey !

As you will notice, there is no Triumph in these pictures.

First of all I would not desire to take a new bike out on salty roads.

Second, it is currently in the shop for an ECU or ECM recall.
Electronic Control Unit or Electronic Control Module.
Basically the brain of the bike has a computer glitch in it that could cause it to stall.
Although I have not read about anyone that had this problem they are taking care of it anyway.

I also had one of the bikes that had a battery from a bad batch put in at the factory.
That has been replaced.

I just hope there are no more issues when we get it back because we are ready to ride !

We should have the bike back next week.
Although it is supposed to snow again Monday and Tuesday of next week !

People in other countries were having other recall problems, but the ones sent to the United States did not have those problems.
Fortunately !!!

I must say that the Dealer has been taking care of me very well.
I also gave them a flyer with my thread on it so they can see where I have been,
and where we are going with our new ride.
When the weather warms up of course !!!

I have been putting together a trip down Skyline Drive in Virginia.
Making several stops on our way to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to see a cousin.
From there we are heading west to Deals Gap. You know, The Tail of the Dragon !
Yup, I am going to try that out.
I am just hoping not to add anything to The Tree of Shame !
That would be a big bummer !
We will hopefully be able to do this some time in May, but we will see how it works out.

So there's your heads up Ben !!!
I am hoping we can get together at some point.

From there, after riding through the Great Smokey Mountains we are heading
north into West Virginia and I am not really sure of our route yet.
I am still working on that.

Of course on my list of stops I have around 8 Muffler Men to visit !

My wife is so overjoyed !!!!
