Talking 990 Aux HID

So taking a page from some of the other offerings for aftermarket lights to use on the 990/950 platform I went a slightly different route since I cant use the great kit put together from one of the forum members (dustjunkie) currently for sale due to location of the EFI brain.

I ended up using these: http://www.niterideroffroad.com/cm.shtml

And they installed like this, right onto the existing cross bar under the headlight. Since I removed the ABS I am using that circut to power the lights.

Not bad,... does the ABS circuit take up the accessory wires that are on the 950's for your 990 application?

I have no idea, there was an unused 40 amp circut down by the right foot under the skid plate, this was for the ABS, I just used that since the ABS is no longer on the bike.

If you look behind the headlight/ windscreen(when they are removed),... 2 minute job,.... you may find that you have 2 additional circuits not being used. They will be marked ACC1 & ACC2 one is a switched hot & the other is constant. You can tell which is which be using a multimeter & cycling the key,... who knows,... may help with future farkeling

Oh those, i know about them already have heated grips hooked up to one. I didnt want to use that for the HID since there are two ballasts. The other one I used was a 40amp; so that was more than enough without stressing the fuse block or such.

didnt realize that was the case, still have to get out and take pics, it doesnt light up the nite like some of those kits do. It really fills in all the dark spots left there from the EU headlight in both low and high beam. More like a fill in light for the first 75feet out in front of you like a flood.
