1979 Yamaha XS1100 special, custom bars, HD air shocks(add height)
2005 Kawasaki ex250 ninja, lowered pegs, handlebar risers

all have lots of custom bits.... for height/comfort/heat

measure once, cut twice

all of them need a few more inches added to be better

I'd like a little taller windshield, the stock one makes the wind beat me right in the face.

Couple of inches longer legs would be handy as it's a big heavy and tall bike..

6' 2" with 32" inside leg.

On a R1150GS (standard height) just right height for me, tried to raise seat height but more comfy at the lowest position.

6'3" 34" inseam (I think)..
09 wee strom, Lowered foot pegs, bar risers/cr high fat bars and a dl1000 seat for longer rides. I still like the 650 seat for around town and close to home rides.

You might try taking the windshield off and running with just the flyscreen. I'm 6'2" and the stock screen is just about perfect for me, my helmet is in clean air but if I were shorter I'm sure I'd be getting buffeting too. I wasn't under any illusion about wind protection on my Ulysses but I've ridden Harley touring bikes for years and the taller shields all create buffeting for me.

In any case, good luck, hope you get it sorted out. You guys must be getting close to riding season up there...

I found that the worst condition was to have the turbulence at my helmet or neck level. I am 6'6" w/ 36" of inseam and sit on a Russell that is +2". I never did find a screen tall enough to kick the turbulence over my head. So I went the other way. I cut the screen down until it just covered the instrument cluster. I have a lot more wind on my helmet but the wind is all clean air. For me the ride improved greatly.

If you can't get the wind over your head, maybe buying a used beater screen and shorten it is worth a try. I cut mine with a small saw and blue tape on both sides, and sanded it after I was happy with the height.

Windscreen seems small too me and the handle bars could be a little higher. But the windscreen is what I should have expected for this style bike.. will be upgraded soon.

5'10" guy with a 32" inseam -- I've gotten good at tip-toeing my XB12X.

I've got a Palmer bracket with the Uly tall screen. It's is a nice go, especially in the summer -- in the tallest position I can comfortably ride with the visor up.

The Madstad bracket with the bigger Madstad screen offers even more protection.

Dunno if you're on Badweb, but there's plenty of discussions to be found there about wind protection. :)

31" Inseam, roughly

1989 XL600V

With an aftermarket windshield (Givi I want to say, PO put it on) I get good coverage and no turbulence. Feet sit pretty comfortably on stock pegs and I can flatfoot the bike.
