Yep, you can keep an eye on your bike from the bar , I think everyone in the place was armed, never felt safer.

It's a type of bubble wrap insulation(1/4"?) they sell at Lowes, Home Depot that has Aluminum foil on each side.

I used some years ago in the roof of a van.

How is it attached to the hand guard?

Ingenious! You did't say how it works though. Looks like it would almost be as good as hippohands without the bulk or expense!

Yes, its that foiled bubble wrap. Its attached with those push rivets that you can get from the autoparts store. These are old pictures, on the throttle side a little duck tape corrected the big gap and I tuck in some holofill insulation to hold more dead air.

Works great, summer gloves all winter (those are heated grips in there as well). Somewhat waterproof, and the material is stiff enough to hold the opening open. Less bulky than hippos and cost is around $5 bucks in supplies.

Not stealing, it's in the public domain. Version 1, used a butchered rain suit, material to floppy, the second version used that blue foam sleeping pad material, too bulky and hard to work with, v3 is that insultec (i think is the trade name) and its perfect. Just pass on the improvements you make.

The hippo hands get bulky too cause they must be outside your barkbusters or the wind pressure will apply braking and clutch--from what I've read. But if they make a specific version for your bike they prolly work and look best. I think JeffB has them on.

Just wait MarkO, our development department is working on a mount to the exhaust header for a mountain pie iron that will allow you to bake your PIE as you ride, and its gonna be cheap too, will prolly ask Skippi to prototype on the TC before we go into production.
