The Shenandoah has been "bad" for more than 50 years, courtesy of the Rayon plant in Ft Royal.

Saw the doc today and all is well. He said no heavy lifting (anything over 25 pounds) for two more weeks and he'd rather I didn't ride for two more weeks. He stitched part of my insides back together and he wants to make sure everything has healed.

Mercury contamination up there. There is a fishing advisory on the South Fork down to the Page/Warren County line.
PCB's start from the old Avtex Fibers holding ponds downstream.

All over .. Very sad...
The Mercury contamination was from decades ago and I believ was stopped in the 60's. The PCB's stopped in 1987 when they shut down Avtex.

Now the water quality has deteriorated due to the MANY chicken farms...

DC to ATL and Back

Rode to Atlanta for my cousin's high school graduation a few weeks back. Stopped off at Deal's Gap on the way down and had some fun there. Nice people working at the Motorcycle Resort.

Ride wasn't too eventful other than a few times nodding off . I'll share some photos when I get home. Also in the process of editing some video shot on my GoPro.
