Don't get too far ahead, goose and/or garrett are going to need a ride at some point and you have the perfect bike for it.

Are you heading down? I know a few gravel roads on the way, let me know if you want to ride out.

Yea unless something stupid comes up I'm 99% in. I can leave out anytime after Thursday evening, but I was considering a headed out Friday AM out 66 then down Fort Valley Road to Crisman Hollow till it dumps out on 211. I've never ridden either of them but figured I'd give them a go. Better than ridiculously slow speed limits and LEOs on Skyline all the way down. I'm definitely up for suggestions and a riding partner though.

Friday works best for me anyway, I'm right near the Huntington Metro.

Fort Valley Rd is a nice stretch of asphalt and if you haven't done it, it's worth it, even on the SE but there are also roads that parallel Fort Valley Rd...A nice route would be Boyer Rd., Dry Run Rd., Boliver Rd., Oak Tree Rd.(to get back to Fort Valley Rd.), St. Davids Church Rd.(watch out for the dog! ) Camp Roosevelt Rd., South Fort Valley Rd., Hickory Lane,. Moreland Gap Rd., on down to Crisman Hollow Rd.
If you want some nice optional roads down...I was going to say once on 340 South take a right on Newport Rd., then another right on Cub Run Rd., rt 636. But, Cub Run Rd has been closed on and off for the last year or so. I just got off the phone with the forest service and It's still closed on the north end. You can access about 8-9 miles of Cub Run Rd. from the South end but that wont work for for your trip down.
So, take 340 South to a left on 340 business(East), cross the bridge over the South Fork Shenandoah and take a right on River Rd. The a left on Comer town Rd. then another left on Fleeburg Rd., then a right on Naked Creek Rd., and back to 340. Its a hop, skip and a jump to Park Way from there. This route is all pavement but is still better than riding 340.

I going to try to get down to the compound at least for one evening.

If my dog sitter is on board, I'm going to do this Friday instead of Saturday. Breakfast at L'Dees in Front Royal, 7ish.

Probably head for Smoke Hole Saturday.
