![]() My local dealer has offered me a ride without me even asking!! Still resisting the temptation as I fear I might just like the bike way to much, and at around 20k for the S model (their demo bike), it's just a bit out of my price range! I DO like it though... Always nice to catch up with this thread and its great images. Keep it up Kam. |

This is true .... Aldana was famous for pioneering the skeleton leathers. I remember him from going to watch the 'Transatlantic Trophy' race series back in the 80's.

The tank isn't so big - the same size as other 1000cc sportsbikes ...it just looks bigger because the rest of the bike is small (ie. that tiny tail unit). ![]() Luckily the indicator lense is not a big deal - just £18 to replace - which is cheap compared to most other bike parts (like replacing a holed radiator!) |

As it happens yesterday was a great day all round. The threatened rain never materialised so after my morning rideout Sarah and I cycled down along the river into Glasgow to Glasgow Green. Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller's latest art installation is currently on display there (before it travells down to London for the Olympics) - a giant bouncy replica of Stonehenge. The Glasgow public were certainly enjoying interacting with it.

As if finding an inflatable Stonehenge in the centre of Glasgow wasn't weird enough, things got stranger moments later when Sarah and I went to sit by the river to have a drink ..... out of no-where a large seal swam past! A seal in the river Clyde ..in the centre of Glasgow! ...on the wrong side of the weir. I was curious to see how it would negotiate the weir so we jumped on the bicycles and gave chase. When it got to the weir it just stopped briefly then using it's flippers it hauled it's self up and over the barrier. Awesome.
I managed to get a few pics (sorry they are poor quality, but I had to be very quick).

The seal ist just gorgeous!
![]() ![]() They are kinda smart, aren't they? ![]() Would have loved to see that - thanks for taking the shots, mate. Nice ride-out shots as well, of course. Does Gary use the sparkie WIZ sliders? I'm gonna get me a pair of those when I get a new bike. I wish the weather would get better here as well. It's been terrible the last days and weeks. They say it's gonna be better by the end of the week. Let's see. Cheers, mate!

Hi mate .... yes, I am going to keep my eyes peeled for our seal friend in future and see if I can get some better pictures of him. It's a good sign that the water in the Clyde must be getting cleaner. Sarah and I also recently spotted a porpoise in the river near the BAE shipyard at Govan. I'm not sure what make Gary's kneesliders are but they are solid titanium pucks .

'Sometimes it's the little things in life that matter most'
This little thing sure mattered today ... ![]() It managed to ruin my plans for a rideout when I discovered it embedded in my rear tyre whilst I was oiling the chain getting ready to leave this morning. Kamchat screwed with this post 04-29-2012 at 02:48 PM |
