I'm from Fife so I've done most of the roads you've posted.Keep up the good work.Since you posted the R.G I thought I woud post a pic of my Yamaha L.C I've just finnished restoring plus a couple of other bikes I've got.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PAL thanks.

Thanks mate I really appreciate that you took the touble to register to post this.

That's a nice collection of bikes you have ..... Love the LC ..looking mint yet it must be about 30+ years old? I remember my first ride on an LC - it was a test ride at a Yamaha 'Open Day' ..and it was the first time I ever did a wheelie (unintentionally) ....it left a big impression on me.

I hadn't realised that the thread had just passed it's 2 year anniversary ..well spotted! How time flies when you are having fun.

Cheers again.

Better yet the weather was great, and the booked trip, Southend to Clacton with a coach return turned into a round trip by boat.
The only (very slight) downside was slowly realising that my previous trips all those years ago were not on the Waverley
Turns out the Waverley did not leave the Clyde until well after my trips were done.
A few (too many) hours on Google revealed that most of my previous trips were probably on the "Medway Queen" now being re-built
I went on many trips from Southend Pier during the mid 60s to early 70's, the Medway Queen was one of a few paddle steamers in service at that time, nearly all now sadly scrapped
Pics didn't come out to well, my fault as the camera has worked ok since, so another trip or so next year are in order
Only thing that came out was a quick video of the engine.

Neil.

Awesome stuff! ... Glad you and your son had a great day on the Waverley..... As for getting paddle steamers 'mixed up' - Lol! It's an easy mistake.

It's impressive seeing that engine in action isn't it.

Another pic from our trip north ...this is the A835 heading back to Ullapool

Of course there is plenty of spectacular scenery further south in our usual 'stamping grounds' too...this was taken on the same trip ..just north of Tyndrum from the A82

It is indeed, the surprise was my son.......
At 27 he has never showed any interest in anything mechanical with one exception, at age ten I let him drive a 9 ton Thwaites all drive dumper.
He was mesmerised by the steam engine, kept disappearing for another look
He now wants to go on a few more trips, and if possible on the Waverley to the Hebrides, I really will try to make that happen next time the trip is available.
And all thanks to you posting the pics of her earlier this year

Neil.

A few from last Sunday ...as you can see the day started dry and bright - if a tad 'chilly' .... Nine of us got out for a run up to Tyndrum and Inveraray ...

Leaving Glasgow in bright sunshine

Good to know our guardian angel watches over us ...

I love it how you give the names/numbers of the Hyways so I can get on google maps to see where youve been.
Fantastic this forum and this thread!
Thanks again

Cheers for that ... I put the road details in so anyone who fancies riding them can find them. ... It's good to hear that you are looking them up on line.

Few more for you from last Sunday ..on one of our usual routes ... the A85 near Lix Toll (the junction with the A827)

Yes a Laverdae with oil inside the engine ... and not behind and under the bike

You have sun, you have a lot of chance

The Jota was another one of my boyhood 'dream bikes' ...never did get to ride one ...that one looks slightly odd ...I think it is down to the headlight having being dropped lower.
