All four of my grandparents came from Scotland. It's a beautiful place, I wish I could go there sometime, but at 54, my time is running short.

I hope they ride sport bikes more responsibly there than they do here. Sport bike riders here have turned the streets into their own personal race track, and ride without regard for their own or anyone else's safety. They are universally hated by non riders and by riders of other types of bikes. I've heard this doesn't happen much in most of Europe.

Thanks for all the pictures. Ride safe.

Cheers ..you are very welcome ..... and don't say 'time is running out!' - I'm a year older than you!

As for being 'hated' ...yes there are probably some folk who hate us ....but then there are some folk who hate all bikes and bikers ..and who would consider just riding a motorbike as being irresponsible ...it's all matter of personal opinion ..and they are entitled to theirs ..it doesn't bother me, I just get on and enjoy living my life ('haters gonna hate').

Are we irresponsible? We don't speed in towns or villages or in 30 / 40 zones ...out in the countryside we have fun on our bikes - there is no point having a sportsbike if you are going to 'pootle' about on it all day...that's not what they are made for.

Equally, some folk like us ..I often get strangers coming up to talk about our bikes when we are stopped ...just last Sunday we had an elderly lady with her middle aged daughter come over to us in Tyndrum, they were American tourists and the daughter asked if she could take a pic of her mum with all 'the bikers' ..I said sure no problem and then I sat her on my bike for the pic ...she was well pleased (we had to lift her on and off the bike but good for her, elderly - yes ..but still 'full of life' - God bless her ).

Anyway, I hope you do make it to Scotland ...you will be welcome and you still have time .

Some of the pics from our ride to Stronachlachar on Sat ...

Glorious sunshine .....

The B829 winds it's way round several Lochs ..

It's not a wide road! ..often cars end up stopping and reversing to let each other past ...no such problem on the bikes.

Look! They painted their house in 'gixxer colours' ! ....Clearly people with 'great taste' live here!

As you get close to Stronachlachan the views 'open out'....

Loch Arklet

A half naked man on a push bike and not a sneaky helmet shift from Sarah, a short pair of denims walking up the road and no camera shake, hats off to your professionalism 😃. Add to that - gixxer coloured houses, fantastic scenery and I suspect some lovely cakes ahead I am getting very jealous indeed.

Lol! Cheers .... 'camera shake' ? - no, thanks to Canon's great 'Image Stabilization' system on the Powershot ... or maybe I am getting old?

Actually, although it started sunny ...we did encounter cool, and dull conditions as we headed west .....but finished the day back in glorious sunshine.

10:30 Leaving Wetherspoons in Anniesland.... Just five bikes as many folk were away on holiday with it being the 'Glasgow Fair' weekend

Big drop in temps as we climbed up into the clouds at the 'rest n be thankful'.....sitting at the ever present 'landslide roadworks'...
