On the way back to Glasgow on Saturday we stopped in Strathyre to try out the new 'Broch Café' that has only recently opened ....

..and very good it was too....... Reasonable prices - £2.50 for a bacon or sausage bun etc. nice quiet location (but just off the main road) and good home baking (cakes, scones etc. plus home made soup)...... We will be back.

It's just on the left as you come into Strathyre (coming from Callander).....at the Forestry Commission car park turning at the start of the village.

Took my bike in the field to get some pics ....

Stuart taking a pic and having a laugh at my 'free-range' gixxer .....

It looks it, doesn't it, - but looks can be deceptive - it's actually just by the A84 in Strathyre and just across from the Strathyre Inn where we often stop on the bikes.

It was a busy weekend ..not only was I out riding on the Friday evening and the Saturday, but we also were out all day Sunday ...We wouldn't normally have gone out on the Sunday thanks to all the rain forecast ....but Sarah and I and some of the others had arranged to meet some friends coming up from England at St Marys Loch... so we set off and hoped for the best ...as it happened we only got rained on five times ...but there was sunshine and dry spells too...and it turned out to be a great day out despite the odd soaking.

We passed through Biggar and the Classic vehicle Show was on that day causing a huge tailback of traffic going into the town ..so a lot of filtering was required ...

But at least we were filtering past some interesting vehicles ...

The group at the roadworks traffic lights on the A701 ...you can see the rain we rode through on the way down in the background ....

..and later on the A708 - more rain ahead...

The A708 to St Marys Loch ....

The bikes sheltering under a tree at the Glen Café at the Loch ....

Fortunately after lunch the sun came out and two of the lads we had come to meet came for a ride back with us down the A708 to Moffat and up the A701 to Broughton ...... One of them, Mark, was on this Boxer R1100s
