He's just traded that SV in for a new GSXR600.

I guess you have plenty of time to work out the replacement, the non riding season might be a good time to visit the dealers for a good deal.

Cheers Terry

At the moment Terry I reckon it will be another GSXR1000 - I love those bikes! I'm just worried about getting insurance now I have written off my last three bikes! ...... although I have managed to spread them out over 9 years - but it still doesn't sound good.

Here we have a smaller percentage of folks who do ride. I think a general perception in our society is that bikers are just not quite right in the head, and it would be strange indeed to see a large gathering bikers like you folks appear to have on a regular basis.

At the same time though some of your open country roads are very much like the ones I ride, but here we have occasional old crumbly structures from the 1800s instead of ancient castles.

Keep us posted on your bike search, vicarious shopping for a new ride is always fun.

Hi mate ... bikers are still a minority over here too...although it sounds like we have more than you......however a chunk of society here also think we are 'not quite right in the head'..... they may be right! Lol!

I think that were Britain is different from most other countries is our love of sportsbikes...they are more popular here than other types such as cruisers, tourers, naked and adventure bikes. .... although there are still plenty of all those too.

Really, back to a 600 after a Twin 1000 it is a strange idea.

Please say hi to them the next time you see them

Regarding the issue of other folk posting pics on here, I guess we are all going to have different views on this and it will be impossible to please everyone, - but my own personal view is that I don't really mind if it is relevant to the thread. Quite a few folk have posted pics on here over the years, from bubu showing us the bikes at the Paris show to Aargee sharing a few pics of rides in India and allblackpearl and TerryK showing us their bikes etc. If it is relevant and only a few pics at a time I think it can enhance the thread by adding a bit of diversity rather than detract.

Of course I agree with you that if someone wants to post a whole load of pics (like a 'thread hijack' thing) then yes, like you, I think they would be better starting their own thread as folk coming on here are obviously expecting to see pics of Scotland and riding in Scotland.

However, I don't think anyone has done that to date.

If folk are only posting a handful of pics at a time it should be easy for those that don't want to see them to skip over them quickly.

I think it's best to 'live and let live' and try to please a many folk as possible.

Likewise, If you ever want to post a few pics yourself on here of your bike or you on your bike, your roads etc. you are most welcome and, I for one, would be interested to see them.

Thanks again for the post (it all adds to making this thread more interesting) ...and for liking the thread so much you felt strongly enough to make your post. It really 'blows me away' that you do.
Thank you very much Kamchat.

I truly didnt mean any offence to anyone, least of all Bubu (he does take some lovely photos).

It's just because I enjoy your thread so much.

You are right though.

Thanks again, sorry for any offence caused to anyone and looking forward to seeing more

Have you ever thought of buying one of the old Yamaha's that you were talking about 10 pages back? Nowhere near as quick but just as cool . Probably easier on the insurance too
