Amazing! - It's a small world! ...especially thanks to the internet.

Here is a clearer shot of the trucks taken at the same time...

Whilst picking up the bike on Wednesday I had a look at the other bikes in the dealers.....the new Kawasaki Z1000 caught my eye - Nice!

Those 'zorsts'! :-

Love the 'tail' - would look great with a tail tidy.

...and that face - pure 'Batman'....

I like a lot the new Z1000, more in the spirit than the first one

Normally Z1000 was a pure street fighter spirit at the beginning. But really after the first model, and the spirit is back now

But it is not the good green, not the kawasaki green on this one lol

Hi, Yeah the Kwak's rear disc does looks big compared to the sportsbikes' ones....
'Skins' - Aaah! That makes sense ...no, never heard them called that before.
It's a new bike so the tyres are brand new. When the time comes to replacing them I will probably just replace with the same Bridgestone S20's if I like these. I say 'if' 'coz I have never had S20's before ...but I liked my BT014's ..and then the BT016's that followed..however I may well change to a 55 profile on the rear instead of the 50's that it comes with. I preferred the 55's when I put them on my last gixxer (the L1, 2011) made the bike feel more 'flickable' in the bends.
Alternatively I did like the Michelin Power One's I had for a while (track/road tyres). A lot of my friends are also switching to Michelin Road 3's which seem to be getting amazing mileage life whilst still retaining decent grip. I'll have wait and see when the time comes.

I really like the style of the bike ...and also this green and grey. It seems to be a trend - Yamaha are doing the same sort of scheme with this years R1 with a grey & blue version.

The Z1000 colour scheme in the above pics is The 'Special Edition' version. The standard bike comes in black or black & orange.

There are some fantastic photos on this thread, Kamchat! I haven't been to Scotland since I was a "wee bairn" and I'm seriously thinking about taking one of the Trumpets up there this summer (probably the SpeedTona, but I won't rule out the Thruxton as long as I think my back can take it!). My late stepfather was born in Oban, by the way, so I guess I could consider myself an "honorary Scot".

Hi Doug, saw it a few months ago at a site visit wish I could use my 990 adv to go meetings, but I may struggle with the surveying gear!

Well nowadays it seems if you next-door neighbour knew someone who visited Scotland you qualify for a call-up for the football or rugby teams so your stepfather being Scottish will probably qualify you for a Scottish passport post September 18th

That's good news, fraser: I'm getting a bit weary of my French passport!
