I kind of like the fact we have an 'off season' as it makes it all the more exciting when the new season approaches - like a kid at Christmas...Although I would rather it was just two months instead of four.

And I thought our four month's off was bad!

As mentioned above, with the rideout season nearly upon us it is time to get ready ...so I took Sarah's bike up to Ducati Glasgow for a set of new tyres on Saturday. We decided to go for the Michelin Pilot Road 3's. So many of the group are now switching to them as they seem to last forever yet are virtually as good as the usual road tyres we use (and better in the wet).

Some of the guys are caning these tyres yet still getting 6000 miles out of a rear instead of the usual 'less than 2000'. !

Saturday morning - Sarah's gixxer now with new boots - they should last her till next year (fingers crossed).

We spent the rest of the day on two wheels, but bicycles this time, with a 55 mile cycle up to Luss and back....

The river Leven was very high and had flooded it's banks, this was the cycle track near Balloch ..we passed pedestrians wading through in frozen bare feet, clutching their socks and shoes.

I think you got the Pilot Road 3's on the wrong bike there . Seriously though, they're amazing tyres, they warm up very quick too, wish they made them to fit my Bonnie

Ha ha, yes, - I don't think they do them for bicycles. They do seem to be amazing - long lasting, grippy in the dry and great in the wet..... It shouldn't be possible to be so good at everything!

Yes, at Ducati Glasgow they told me these tyres were becoming popular as word has spread....and that they had complained to the Michelin rep that it would hit profits as they last three times longer and hence a lot less tyre sales in a season.

Temps hit 12 C here today - the Rideout season is back on! Yay! ... Unfortunately we have a day of rain forecast for tomorrow...but all we need now is a dry Sunday and we will be out again.

Did our usual Saturday cycle today .....
