..and your posts don't ruin the thread ..quite the opposite from my perspective.
Also been reading this thread for a few years, love the photos of Scotland & the bikes of course.
Might be over in Scotland later in the year but won't be on a bike (hire car perhaps) have not worked out the details but been taking note of the areas you travel to.

Cheers Terry

Thank you! .... I'm 'well chuffed' to hear you love the pics. I'm not sure about a 'large' following but I am really pleased that there are some folk like your good self who keep popping in to have a look and post ..it's much appreciated.

Today - Some of the guys were heading up to Applecross for the weekend. Sarah and I decided to meet up with them and ride up part of the way to Tyndrum for lunch.

Gordon's friend Gary on the big GSX1400...

Passed this BMW trike on the way up to Tyndrum...

When you arrive in Tyndrum you are welcomed by a road-side wooden bear ...

Saying farewell at The Welly, the guys rode on north, Sarah and I headed to The Real Food Café for some lunch ...

The Café has recently had a new extension built to replace the previous canvas one.... it's a great place to get a bite to eat and there is a great view from the comfortable new dining area.

The A82 leaving Tyndrum heading back east and south.

Just saying thanks!

This thread is one of my favorites. It very often inspires me to go out and take the KTM SMT around for a spin.

It has also contributed to me making plans for a 4-5 day roadtrip with a few riding buddies ,from the Netherlands to Scotland possibly next spring.
Planning to take the nightboat from IJmuiden to Newcastle and go from there.
Needles to say that the way you have been and still are 'painting' the fabulous scenery , adds to the desire to visit Scotland.

If it isn't to much of a burden it would be so kind if you would occasionally point out some motorbike friendly B&B's in the area, that would be appreciated.

So...keep posting them great pics

Erik.

Hi Kam,

Thanks for the tip on buying tickets for the Hunters Quay ferry BUT we got an even better deal off the guy on the ferry. He sold us a book of tickets for £28 that was for 7 of us with 7 bikes. Just thought it may come in useful if there are that many of you next time. Had a fantastic week in Scotland the weather was pretty good only two showery mornings. Thanks again.

Cheers Glenn.

Thanks Erik, it's great to hear that the thread is a favourite of yours and that it has helped inspire you to come to Scotland for a biking trip.

Regarding 'biker friendly B&B' s...obviously living here I don't use them but I do know of two I would recommend :-

The first is in Callander and is run by the mother of a good friend of ours - Julie who is herself a biker (Fireblade rider) ...I know that the place has been popular with groups of visiting bikers.

The link to it is :-

Another one that I know biking friends have stayed in and spoke well of is in Balloch, :-

http://www.timeout-bb.co.uk/

Both the above are well situated for trips on all the roads and places featured in this thread..

Hi Glenn, no worries, good to hear you had a great trip up here ...and yes, the weather hasn't been too bad of late.

Regarding the tickets, it sounds like you got a good deal on the boat, ..if you buy in 'bulk' at the newsagents they are also cheaper ...I think a book of ten tickets is £40 which works out the same as you paid at £4:00 a ticket.

But you got a good price considering you got them on the boat ..a normal single on the boat is over £8:00 normally.

Hope you will be back in future.

I was at the Welly Sat & Sun also Kam, I must have just missed you on Sunday as I remember seeing a little CBR parked up with a group of bikes just outside the fuel station shop but by the time I had parked up they had left.

On the Saturday I was parked up beside that BMW trike thingy but the car park was pretty sparse so by that point you must have been down the road tucking into lunch
I wasn't as lucky with the rain on the way home but not as unlucky as others as there was a bad accident between Tyndrum and Crainlarinch.

That's amazing ..you must have just missed us by mere minutes on both days! yes, that was us on Sunday by the air line outside the Welly shop ...and on Saturday we were parked just by the BMW trike too ..you can just see part of it behind us in this pic as we left ..

I'm sure you will catch us one day soon.
